"KC Deck Pro was awesome. JD worked with us extensively to come up with a plan that was within our budget but had all of the “extras” we were looking for. He brought plenty of samples and didn’t rush our decision like some of the other companies. The crew was polite, friendly and kept the job site clean. Every day before they left, they picked up and straightened the job site which was much appreciated with younger kids. While they worked through most of the weather/snow, one day it just wasn’t possible for the crew to work. To make up for the lost time, crew came on the weekend. Something that I want to highlight, was the meticulous attention to detail. Boxing in the pillars was not something that any other company recommended or offered but since we were replacing a handful of pillars, it made the finished deck look totally brand new even though we were really just re-decking. We cannot more highly recommend KC Deck Pro. You will not be disappointed with the quality of materials, the workmanship and the professionalism."

"In 2004, Terry DeFraties of Essential Extras designed and constructed a new deck and pergola for us. We were interested in using a sustainable long lasting wood product. Terry and crew had just begun installing Ipe (Brazilian hardwood). Terry was receptive to our ideas and expanded on our requests. The outcome was a well designed unique deck that is still in great shape today. When requested, Terry inspects the deck and his crew does appropriate maintenance. In 2020, we renovated our lower level that had not been updated in thirty years. Terry presented a redesigned kitchen/bar that maintained the original footprint but reorganized the space in much better way. He co-ordinated his staff and sub contractors during the entire renovation process. I used the companies he suggested for the design elements of the project- cabinetry and counter tops, flooring and plumbing fixtures. Our downstairs area is now a comfortable and very usable living space while adding 1400 square feet of value to our home."

Joe inspected and showed us how the entire bottom of the stair structure had water damage and rot due to improper original build. An interim fix by another contractor had been wholly insufficient — it had only been superficial. Joe and crew fit us in and met our tight deadline for our son's graduation party and replaced the entire staircase in just two days. It was done timely and expertly. Especially appreciated were the before and after photos, as well as the detailed description of the problem, the associated safety issues, and the fix. He was also able to re-use the Trex planks — only needing to replace the rotted structural boards. The new staircase is solid! We'll now have Joe bid on a much larger project for another property. He's our new go-to guy!"

"Well, the drop down menu here only gives the options for vinyl siding, awning/patio cover, and deck/porch replacement/repair. So I just picked one but actually had a new roof and gutters installed. We needed a new roof in a hurry thanks to one of the massive storms this year (spring 2026) putting 2 holes in our old roof.
