"I can't believe how smoothly this repair went! Everyone at Falcone--the schedulers who arranged our estimate visit and the repair work, the foundation experts who repaired the porch, the finance people who explained the estimate and our final bill--every single one of them was helpful, prompt, courteous, and great at their jobs. The county inspector who reviewed the porch repair even made a point of telling us what high quality work the Falcone people had done for us! I would definitely call them again! If you're interested in our specific details, this repair was crucial to maintaining our house's structural integrity; since the screened-in porch is attached to the house, if it went down the hill, so would the back wall of the house! The foundation had cracked away from the main house and the slab was cracked and sliding apart at different angles. The men from Falcone excavated, cleaned, and prepped the job site, including washing the bottom section of the slab to promote bonding when the new concrete was poured. Then they poured a porch perimeter slab wall under the slab to stabilize the foundation. In addition, they installed a backer rod and applied concrete sealant to re-connect the porch foundation to house and prevent additional damage."

"Foundation Repair. We have had opportunity to use PowerLift twice in the past. Once in 2005 and once in 2009. The situation was that the clay soil in the Charlotte area expands and contracts with temperature and moisture. What had happened in 2005 was that cracks had appeared in the north side of the brick on our home. I contacted Jim McCown who came out and did a thorough inspection of the foundation. He found that piers were needed around the north west corner of our house. We had the repairs completed and were pleased with the result. They even repaired the cracks themselves so the brick was sound. Fast forward to 2009. We found that we were having problems with some of the interior and exterior doors operating correctly. I again called PowerLift, ready to accuse them of warranty issues with their work. As it turned out, the repairs done previously were fine, but the west side of our house, under the deck, needed remediation. PowerLift came out, dismantled the portion of the deck that was in the way, and stabilized the foundation in that area. Again, the cracks were repaired and the house stabilized. Fast forward to 2023. We're preparing to sell our home, so had Jim come out and verify that the piers were still doing their job. He verified that we were still in good shape. Are there other companies who do foundation repair? I suppose so, but we were so pleased with working with PowerLift in general and Jim McCown in particular that we could see no benefit in going anywhere else. "they made a mess of my yard ,they left my basement full of dust and cement. my whole house is covered with it. i bitched about it and they came out to clean it up, after a few minutes the said no-way . they sent me a check for 200 dollars , my wife and i with two maids are still cleaning . i think if we dont fix it soon my lungs will harden with cement.the wall covering was cut to long and has buckles in it.at this point i dont think there is anything they can or will do to make me happy.it's a lot of money to have to still be cleaning up after a month later. i see no end to it <br />"

"Tony and David used a 2-step approach: 1) performed work in the basement which included installing a sump pump, a well, wall sheathing, and weep holes; and 2) completely sealed cracked cement and installed a drainage system in a raised flowerbed attached to the house. Since completion of the work, we have had several occasions with heavy rainfalls, and for the first time in two years since we bought the house, we have not had water in the basement thanks to the competent waterproofing system installed by Soggy Bottom Waterproofing. Not only was their work 100% effective in preventing water leaking into my basement workshop, they were at least 1/2 to 1/3 of the total cost quoted by other companies. They performed the work with minimal disruption to existing structures in the basement (unlike one proposal we received), and structurally improved the raised garden wall.
