"The whole experience was awesome from start to finish. Sam came out to measure himself and then took care of the rest after we picked out the new carpet and stain color. The installation of the carpet was done over 2 days one week and the hardwood was taken care of the following week. The workers were on time, polite, hardworking and they did such a beautiful job. our home is transformed....... I do want to mention that after the hardwood was done, we noticed a small area that was missed (our living room can lack adequate lighting on cloudy days). We called the next day and they responded immediately and it was taken care of. That is great service. We highly recommend Best Carpet and would gladly use them again if the need arises."

"

Installer arrived when he said he would be here. Not easy because he did the entire tear-out, re-install all by himself. His helper called in sick. It took about 3 hrs. total, and he did an outstanding job. Installers name was Kurt. Adair floors kept in contact with me and the work was done exactly as promised. No games, no foolin' around, just good old fashioned service which seems to be rarer and rarer nowdays.

"John at the store was excellent to work with. We were shown multiple carpets from several manufacturers and were allowed to take samples home for as long as needed. He worked with us regarding the price so we could stay within our budget. The employee who came out to measure, as well as the installers, both arrived at the agreed upon time. Installers worked very quickly, were courteous ans professional, installation looks great and they cleaned up before they left.
Bottom line: Fair price for a quality product, no hidden costs, excellent work done on time, courteous and professional.

"Excellent. I am amazed how good they look. Wish I'd done it years ago when we took the carpeting up. They arrived on time, allowed an extra day for drying rather than rush it to get the job finished. No dust. Very pleasant workers."

"Found company based on referral from friends.  Staff at retail location was courteous and helpful.  Compared to two other carpeting stores we went to, their prices were excellent, and the quality of the product was very good.  Staff member came to our home and provided an estimate, as well as answering questions.  Very helpful and informative.

The installers were courteous and professional.  Installation took longer than expected (whole day instead of half day).  I feel this was in large part due to the meticulous way the installer worked.

Overall, a very pleasant experience compared to another carpet store we dealt with.   Great pricing and service.  Highly recommended."

"My dog had gotten sick on our bedroom carpet about five years ago. Since I am retired, I decided I should clean my own carpets to save money. I had tried to get rid of the spot using any method and product known to mankind (well, at least anything that sounded reasonable). I did find one product that would pretty much remove the stain, but the stain would return within a month or less. I had used J&S several years ago before retiring and decided to try them again. I really didn't have much hope they could get rid of the stain since by now, it had been around a long time and through several do-it-yourself cleanings. But magically, the stain was removed by J&S. I have waited a little over a month to post this review fully expecting the stain to reappear, but it has not. How I wish I had called J&S when the dog first got sick and stained the carpet. I did not comment on price because I did not shop around and don't know what the going price for carpet cleaning is. However, for me, J&S was well worth what I paid."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Burlington, WI

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
