"The service technician arrived on time, however he did not come to the front door.  He went into the back yard and knocked on the patio door.  He was very quiet and not very responsive to my questions.  He did not provide an estimate while he was on-site, he sent it three days later via email.  I also had him look at an area that leaks during the winter months.  He told me he would have to talk to his supervisor and he would get back to me.  I recieved an email approximately 1 week later, the estimate was not specific and the cost for the repair was quoted as a starting price, because they were unsure why the leak occurs. <br />"

"Called to get an estimate for a new roof from Callen because of their high ratings on Angie's List.  Dan was the sales rep who came out to my house.  He was on time and professional.  However, right after introducing himself to me, he told me his estimate was going to be higher than any other estimate I received, even before looking at my roof.  He sure wasn't kidding.  The estimate he gave me was 40% higher than either of the other two estimates I received.  High ratings or not, in my opinion he clearly did not want my business."

"My husband and I hired Design Group Three as general contractors to manage the remodeling on a newly purchased condo before we moved in. We have high standards and had heard that Design Group Three were perfectionists. We were willing to pay more for a detail-oriented general contractor and high quality work, which is why we chose them though we knew their prices were on the higher side. In the end, we are happy with the final result but feel that it required more quality control effort on our part than was expected. <br /> For example, the fireplace tile was initially set with broken, chipped, and crooked tiles. The dining room chandelier was visibly defective (manufacturer's defect) but was installed by the electrician anyway. There were other examples of minor issues, which I felt should have been caught by a project manager rather than by us, especially since we were not living in the home and only checking in every few days. In these instances, we had to point out the problems to Design Group Three and ask for the subcontractors to come back out to fix the problems. To their credit, they were very gracious with each of these requests and would get the problem fixed to our satisfaction. <br /> Communication with the team was sometimes an issue. The paint brand used was substituted without our knowledge or approval. Emails and phone calls were usually handled promptly but there were sometimes lapses of several days before we heard back. At project completion, we had to remind them to return our keys to us as well as provide manufacturer's warranty paperwork. As a positive, the Design Group Three team and their subcontractors were all very professional, polite and pleasant to deal with. <br /> Ultimately, the price to value ratio was not what we wanted. It did not feel that we were getting a better remodeling experience with Design Group Three than we would have with a more moderately priced general contractor. <br />"

"I was a little nervous about ordering windows on the internet using measurements I'd taken myself, but I loved the design on the website so, initially I only ordered 2 windows to check the quality, my ability to measure accurately and the company's ability to build to my measurements. Jeff, the salesman I dealt with was attentive without being overwhelming and the first order was delivered in about 4 weeks. The windows were exactly what I was looking for and fitting them was a breeze. I followed up with another order for the remaining 13 windows in my porch and again, they arrived quickly, were of great quality, exactly to size and easy to fit.
