"Communications with their office were quick and easy to set up an estimate.  It is hard to get any type of contractors to come to Lago Vista but J&J came from Manor with no hesitation.  The owner (name escapes me now-I forgot to do rating immediately) came out to measure and talk about the job the day after my call and understood we would call when the product came in. <br /> We contracted privately with one of their crew to pick up the load of flooring as we lacked a truck. He picked it up and delivered to the house and carried it all inside.  The prescribed 3 days later [allowing wood to acclimate to temp and humidity] the installation crew arrived and took 3 to 4 hours to finish the entire job.  <br /> There was one piece that had a flaw in it that we couldn't live with because of its prominent location. The owner sent the foreman out to remove the piece and install another which looks perfect.  We are very satisfied with our association with J&J Flooring. <br />"

"Phillip came out to take a look at the problem. He was professional and courteous, and was able to get a crew out to make the repairs on short notice (we had movers coming and wanted the floors fixed prior to moving in furniture). His crew was several hours late, however, when they arrived, Javier knocked out the job quickly (he even called in an extra guy to make sure they finished the job that day). The floor looks great - Over all good experience. <br />"

"Very responsive and willing to work with me on the price of materials.  Labor costs were same/competitive with similar companies.  Installation was a breeze; staff is very professional.  Not a cheap project, but exactly what we wanted and CDC gave the best bid around - by far. <br />"

"We were already leaning toward a specific carpet we'd found at a box store because it worked so perfectly with all our other new finishes, but after reading reviews both here and elsewhere, and preferring to do business with locally owned companies whenver possible, I decided to check out America's Carpet Outlet before making our final decision.   <br /> It was a pleasure to meet and work with the owner, David Pratt, and I would definitely recommend anybody shopping for carpet go by and visit with him.  He impressed me as quite knowledgeable and shared an abundance of helpful information about the multitudes of choices in carpets (and pads), warranties (or lack of), effects of carpet cleaning, etc., and even though ours was a relatively small job, went to great lengths trying to find a carpet that was a match to sample swatch of the box store carpet we were considering.  During this process, David worked closely with me, making suggestions, providing numerous swatches from his in-stock carpets, contacting his carpet reps to obtain color/style specific samples, keeping me updated on a regular basis, and always returned my calls promptly.  He spent a considerable amount of time with me and worked hard to earn my business. <br /> As I learned thru my extensive carpet shopping experiences, "apple to apple" price comparisons can be difficult to come by in the world of carpets because of all the variables.  That said, his posted pricing for carpet and pad seemed very reasonable (e.g., his price/sf on 8 lb pad was +-35% less than comparable 8 lb pad I'd priced elsewhere) .  It should be noted that David can refer you to any number of professional installers he works with, but they would have to be contracted with seperately as ACO only sells the materials. <br /> In the end, turns out the box store carpet that worked so well with all our finishes was a proprietary color/pattern made exclusively for and sold only by the box store and thus there was really no match available, and ultimately we decided to go with the box store carpet.   However, next time I'm in the market for carpet, I'll be going by to see David.   Next time you're shopping carpet, maybe you should, too. <br />"

"An excellent job.  Patrick helped me find samples of wood I like and we ended up using a handscraped walnut which has been both beautiful and durable.  We looked for our own tile at various local suppliers and had him install it in the kitchen and bathrooms.   We put in porcelain tile which is also terrific. <br /> The job was professionally done and at a competitive price - what more can you ask for? <br />"

"Wonderful team and great products! Both teams, tile and carpet, were punctual, experts and diligent in their work and it shows (you cannot see one single seam in the carpet, not even in the closets). In addition, Stephanie and John Landers are wonderful to work with and have exquisite ideas if you are having trouble picking out options. Will definitely be a repeat customer. Thank you Landers Premier Flooring, we love our new floors!"

"Our house foundation was very uneven from time and settling and they were great to get the flooring ordered and when it was ready to install, they had to float the entire floor to ensure that it was level once the tile was laid and set. The owners and the installers were all great to work with and we would recommend them and use them again for another project."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Burnet, TX

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
