He asked questions when there were decisions to be made. He explained the whole house surge protector to me, which I decided to purchase. He made sure I understood that if it were needed that it would still mean losing electricity to the house (the same as if I didn't have a protector and there was a major electrical surge) - but that large appliances that aren't currently on surge protectors would be safe.
