"Steve came over and gave us some good news (not a foundation problem), but also gave us a reference to someone who repairs concrete for the type of problem we have. He really knew all about these issues and told us some signs to look for that would indicate a real foundation problem. Very pleasant company to deal with."

"It went great. They were there on time. Lupe Alvarado, the foreman, kept me informed as to what they were doing, gave me a suggestion or two on what we could do, and got the job done efficiently & completely. Although they had allowed the entire day, it took only around 5 hours. They cleaned everything up perfectly."

"I contacted Foundations First NorthWest and a couple of other contractors when an inspection revealed some foundation settling and crawl space damage. I chose Foundations First to make the repairs because they included more work, and at a lower price, than their competitors. I can't say enough about how professional everyone at Foundations First NorthWest was, from the first meeting with the sales rep to the constant communication with office staff throughout the project. Every step was completed without a hitch -- getting permits, engineering, the repair work and county inspections. The work crews worked quickly and efficiently on both the installation of stabilizing foundation piers, and also on the crawl space repairs. And they left the work areas in a very clean condition. I highly recommend Foundations First!"

"After being impressed by a concrete project in our neighborhood (a driveway and a bit more), we hired The Wall for a large project that entailed replacing several deteriorating areas in our own yard: a lower patio and adjacent retaining wall; our driveway; and a set of stairs connecting the driveway and patio. By and large, The Wall team and the work they did were top notch. We had a skilled, dedicated crew that stayed on our job from start to finish. There were no gaps in the timeline because they had to attend to other clients; our project moved very efficiently and significant progress was made each day. The team was thoughtful, considerate and very careful not to damage our plants or other belongings. The crew’s focus, expertise and collaboration with each other were a joy to watch. As with most projects there were small hiccups along the way but these were relatively few and promptly resolved. The most challenging aspect of our experience: in hindsight, there were design details regarding our stairs that probably could’ve/should’ve been more clearly defined and formally agreed upon (between us and The Wall) - prior to fabrication. And, not fatal but inconsistent with the beautiful work on most of the project: some of the concrete finishing or clean-up wasn’t on par with bulk of the job. Small inconsistently textured areas or little blips of concrete from one pour overlapping seams from a separate pour are two examples. All in all: pretty consistently great end results from a company we’d use again."

"Jay did a very thorough job and was generous with his time.  He showed an understanding of the evolution of house design, i.e. that our house was designed in the 60s and had the problems of a house of that age and in this location.  He also clearly understood the properties of the region and soil where our house was sited. He listened well and clearly understood that we cared about costs.  He gave us multiple options for making the necessary repairs at different price points and offered suggestions for ways we could accomplish them ourselves if we desired.  He noticed additional potential problems and gave us a sense of how they should be prioritized.  All of this gave us hope that we could accomplish the needed repairs within our budget.  It was money well spent. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"When Todd first started breaking up the packed gravel driveway, he hit and pierced the main gas line. It was only 6 inches below the surface (should have been a couple feet). I wasn't home but Todd responded quickly, shut off the breaker box (to eliminate the possibility of explosion) and contacted the fire department. Once that drama was over, the rest of the drain and concrete work went smoothly. <br /> <br />"

"I initially started this project with a contractor hired off of a certain free classified listing site, and had the previous contractor abandon the job and abscond with a substantial deposit. Needing to keep the ball rolling, I reached out to Ted Rudiger to come in and do the proper excavation and also facilitate the pouring of the concrete that I needed. <br /> From our initial contact, Ted was sympathetic of my situation and assured me that he would do whatever he could to make it right. His pricing was substantially higher than what the flaky contractor had bid, but his excellent ratings on Angie's List convinces me to spend the money. It turned out to be the right decision. <br /> Ted was able to get my project back on track in an extremely short period of time, squeezing my little garage slab in between multiple larger jobs and making me feel like a priority. He didn't tolerate any delays from subcontractors and was able to make the connections required to keep the foundation and slab pours on a timely schedule. <br /> All in all, I couldn't be happier with the finished product. It was such a great experience to work with a competent contractor whose primary motivation is doing good business and making sure the customer is happy. I would happily use Ted Rudiger again on future projects and recommend him to anybody looking for grading, excavation, or concrete work. <br />"

FAQs for concrete foundation repair projects in Buxton, OR

Visible cracks, water leaks, uneven floors, or walls that won’t line up are classic red flags. You might also notice sticking windows, doors that no longer latch, or exterior cracks crawling up brick or siding. Even a damp, musty basement can hint at trouble. If you spot any of these, call a foundation pro right away. Early inspections cost far less than waiting until the damage threatens your home’s stability.

Yes, foundation problems impact your home’s value. Buyers want proof that the foundation is stable, and a recent, professional repair can actually boost confidence in your home. You’ll need to disclose the work, but documentation showing the structure was properly stabilized, especially with piers in regions known for shifting soil, often reads as a plus, not a problem. Skipping repairs, on the other hand, can cut your sale price and shrink the pool of interested buyers. Taking care of the issue protects both value and peace of mind.

Foundations are engineered for exceptional longevity when constructed correctly and maintained diligently. Concrete slab foundations remain structurally sound for 200 years, while other foundation types deliver integrity between 75 and 100 years. Regular professional inspections and timely maintenance further secure a foundation’s lifespan and ensure your home stays safe over the long term.
