"Dwight from Cornerstone Construction is the REAL deal! I am probably one of the pickiest people when it comes to contractors. I have never liked a single one, but Dwight is absolutely wonderful. They have remodeled our entire kitchen (removed our whole old kitchen and replaced it with a brand new kitchen including appliances, exhaust, backsplash, etc) - it looks perfect, which I NEVER say. I have no conflict of interest....I am tired of contractors who don't do a good job so when I found Dwight, I was ecstatic. I have used his company for the build out of my medical office and always refer our friends and family to him."

"I couldn’t be more happy with the process and the results!! Working with Jake and Parkstone Construction was unlike any other contractor experience I have ever had. He was very kind, a clear communicator, and a man of his word. Seems like it should be a given, but that hasn’t been the case in the past with other contractors we have hired (just getting those previous guys to show up when they said they would was enough to drive me crazy)! I am now thrilled every time I drive up to our house. The quality of the materials, the workmanship, and the end result are all just incredible. We will absolutely be calling Parkstone every time we need help with anything even remotely related to construction."

"We bought our house brand new and the builder used Link Floors to install our "Luxury vinyl plank" flooring. 1st problem is they installed the wrong floors. The second problem is that when they came by to fix the warranty issues, they only fixed one spot and left. We have had nothing but issues. An entire piece has peeled off the floor. And multiple other pieces are starting to peel at the seams. When I reached out to Rebecca, she was so rude and yelling at me on the phone and told me that when she came to my house SHE told me it was because of the dogs. This woman has NEVER been to my house. And when the man did come to fix 1 of many spots we only had ONE dog. She clearly had me confused with someone else but that didn't matter. She had made up her mind. She refused to help me at all and hung up on me. I called back and spoke to someone else and she sent someone to look at the floors but never followed up. This should not be an issue in a new build and the way I was treated on the phone was atrocious. Not fixing issues within the warranty is also a breach of contract. If you need new floors I would use anyone but Link Floors, terrible customer service and lack of skill."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Cairo, GA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
