I contacted Amos Pump and they came out and went over the various situation that could cause my issue and what they thought would be the best way to address it. I agreed that as a initial attempt it made sense to raise the well pump up off of the bottom of the well and install a whole house water filter. I made an appointment to have the work performed and it was done as they said it would be. The water has improved dramatically and is normally clear. I am going to play around with various filter options and see what happens. <br /> The bottom line is that these guys didn't come out to the house and tell me that the sky was falling and I would need to spend thousands to take care of the issue. They didn't promise me that my water would be 100% perfect after the intial work was performed. "Great company!  The owner came out to estimate the job and make recommendations.  He came up with several cost saving ideas and other suggestions to isolate the different areas in case of a leak.  They also understood I was in a bit of extremes with water leaks from the old PVC pipe and assured me I would be able to have water service in the evening, even if they weren't done for the day.  The plumbers were quick and professional as well as responsive to all my questions.  They've installed a very reliable water system well under the bids from other companies and will get my business in the future.  It's just a bonus they happen to be near by. <br />"
