"Jose and his crew did an outstanding job on our extensive interior and exterior renovation, which included a new addition. The project covered everything from a new structural roof with shingles and skylights to new construction windows and doors, siding, a Trex deck, and fully renovated kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room. They also refinished a bedroom and installed beautiful hardwood floors. As with any large project, a few unexpected challenges came up, but Jose handled them with professionalism and kept everything moving forward smoothly. His craftsmanship is excellent, and he’s not only easy to work with but also patient and highly skilled at problem-solving. "First, let me tell you that all of the 5-star reviews for this company and specifically Eddie are true. This young man is wise beyond his years, professional and displays a depth and knowledge greater than the 50-year-olds I work with. He consulted on product choices, guided us with samples, tested stains and visited us multiple times to ensure our project would be flawless. Who is this guy? Could all the hype be right? Our job started with an on-time arrival by Eddie and after reviewing the day's activities with us he set out directing his team to prep, tarp, protect and ensure our area would be as clean as possible throughout the job. He and his team stained pine windows, trim, molding and undertook a brand new custom Mahogany door with enthusiasm. It was a pleasure to learn about his craft, see him at work as he stained, sanded and re-stained our beautiful new door and sidelights. The woodwork was exceptional, the poly coat on the trim made our doorways and windows shine with just the right amount of gloss. In addition to doing a great job, they cleaned up every day before leaving. What a joy to have a pro care so much for his craft that he stayed a few extra hours to get the job done right. "The construction company, MGT Construction has just completed our +/-600 sq foot deck at our home in Southold. MGT managed the planning: We were determined to build the deck per Southold Town code using Timber-Tech composite decking and railings per their specifications. After we had the survey done Steven coordinated with their architect and liaised all building inspections. He was instrumental in all follow-ups with the town until final approval of the permit. We sourced the pressure-treated framing lumber from Amagansett Lumber and with four feet deep footings the underlying structure is solid and constructed to last 30 years, which is also the guaranteed life of the decking. MGT Construction excels in the carpentry aspect of the decking. They made sure the planks were correctly aligned and the surrounding picture frame planks were precisely fitted. This was also true as well regarding the fitting of the railings. We opted for “drink rails” and their finishing on those is superb. Our overall impression of the construction staff was that they were always courteous and friendly. We did however make the observation that the workers should pay attention to their attire, which at times was needlessly sloppy and awkward. However, they were hard workers and respectful. An electrical subcontractor had to redo work because a supervisor was not on the site. The work was corrected and promptly made without complaint. Cleanup was done in a timely manner and to our satisfaction. Having had other construction work done on homes I can honestly say, MGT Carpentry was professional and their work was excellent. I highly recommend them."
