"<p>All of these pieces have been rejuvenated by the fine work of Classic. The altar boy chair was delivered to Classic as a frame and seat springs. I chose a material that was in stock because it went well with one of the other pieces. They reinforced the frame and installed the new fabric using the springs that I brought.</p> <p>When I left the frame chairs, I mentioned to David that I didn't think it was possible anybody could ever sit on them again. He assured me that they would be fully functional when returned to me. He was correct: they are more solid than they have been for years. He also recommended that we not try to clean the needlepoint because of the risk of fraying the edges of the material. The needlepoint design was originally done by my wife's grandmother, so we did not want to risk it. The plan was to use air pressure to blow the dust off of the material and the result exceeded my expectations. The chairs are both solid and beautiful and another customer complimented me on them when I picked them up.</p> <p>The settee had a loose leg and the webbing on the bottom was loose and hanging down. To my delight, they were able to glue the leg and repair the webbing without taking the piece apart or removing the existing upholstery. The webbing repair completed the job and made the seat useable again. They took care not to soil or damage the existing upholstery. Another Classic customer also admired this piece when I picked it up.</p> <p>I will use Classic Upholstery for another antique restoration project that I have.</p> <br />"

"I have a family member who is disabled, and spends most of her time in a particular upholstered chair. The seat cushion on that chair these days was not very supportive. Yesterday my relative was out at a doctor's appointment, so I called Landry Home Decorating and spoke with Mary. I explained the situation, and asked if they might have some time either Monday (yesterday) or Weds (when Eleanor would also be away from the house) to put a new insert in the cushion while I waited. Mary checked to see if they had the right materials and enough time to complete the job. Then she said if I wanted to, I could come in right away. So! I snatched the seat cushion off the comfy chair and hopped in the car. Mary arranged for someone to take the cushion and do the work while I waited. I browsed their extensive "library" of upholstery fabric sample books, and before I knew it, the cushion was ready! Really, it couldn't have taken much more than 15 minutes, 20 at the most. I had paid while the cushion was being worked on, so as soon as it was ready, I dashed out the door for home. Luck was with me, I was able to get in and get the cushion back in place before Eleanor made it upstairs and headed for her chair. It was a nice surprise for her. So, thank you to John Landry, and Mary, and the helper who put the new insert into the cushion. You were all friendly, helpful and efficient, and really made my day. I'm attaching a picture of Eleanor in her chair, after the cushion was put back in place. She's a happy camper! Thanks again for helping make this happen."

"Tho is old-school - no email, no website. He works out of his storefront. He did a beautiful job on the couches, which were vintage mid-century. It was not cheap - yes, we could have bought new couches for less - but they had sentimental value and were very unique. The best thing about Tho is his high quality of work (these couches look new and boy are they FIRM) and his speed. The other upholstery shops quoted us 10 weeks (a long time to be sitting on the floor) but Tho only took 2 weeks. Also, Tho does not provide the fabric, so he doesn't inflate his price by charging you a padded price for fabric (no pun intended). You can save a lot by getting your own fabric, and also have better selection."
