"The project was just completed, and we have had our final electrical and building inspections. We have no issues with the sales process and I only have high praise for the sales rep Bob Zielinski. We did have an issue of the price going up due to a change in the room configuration after signing the initial contract, but Bob handled it very well and to our satisfaction. We appreciate his efforts and the cooperation of management in coming to a reasonable compromise regarding the price increase. We experienced a very long delay due to the necessity to re-route the water main (water well) line which was broken when my concrete contractor was digging for footers. Once the footers were installed the final measurements were able to proceed. The materials were available in stock a bit earlier than anticipated and we able to easily schedule the installation. The installation and electrical crews were extremely professional and did excellent work. We were initially a bit disappointed in the insulation where the addition attaches to the house siding. While the work meets code and was approved by the city building inspector, we believed that there should be additional flashing and/or caulking along the entire line of attachment to the house. It seemed that there was a gap between the insulation and the end of the vertical beams, although they were fully attached and insulated. As soon as I brought this to the attention of the office, I immediately received a call back from the construction supervisor. He expressed a concern that any additional caulking would not match the structure or the house and therefore would not look good. They offered to send a crew out to evaluate what could be done. A crew showed up within an hour (the original construction team). They evaluated my concern and found a caulking material that exactly matched the siding on my house. Within an hour the caulking was applied, and the project has a better and more finished look. The construction and electrical work were completed on time, and my desires regarding the use of additional caulking were addressed in a most professional and satisfactory manner. We chose Patio Enclosures for this job because of the excellent work was done by their Stanek Windows division in installing a new custom patio door two years ago. Now the door leads into a wonderful new double pane glass, three season sunroom, with a solid sloping roof. The new structure matches the patio door exactly. We are very pleased with the work that was performed and the customer service that we received. I would only caution that if someone wants to get a job like this done properly, and with the highest-grade materials and workmanship, it will probably cost quite a bit more than they are planning to spend. In the end we believe the addition is worth the price and will add much value to the house as well as many enjoyable days and evenings using the room in the Spring, Summer, and Fall."

The workers were professional and knew what they were doing.  They even modified a downspout that was not in the original work order at no extra charge. <br /> We used the awning almost daily during the fall and are very satisfied with the performance and the installation. <br /> I only had rough estimates from other vendors so I cannot make a direct cost comparison.  I chose Patio Enclosures since I was happy with the porch enclosure that they installed about 18 years ago. <br />"

"I was a little nervous about ordering windows on the internet using measurements I'd taken myself, but I loved the design on the website so, initially I only ordered 2 windows to check the quality, my ability to measure accurately and the company's ability to build to my measurements. Jeff, the salesman I dealt with was attentive without being overwhelming and the first order was delivered in about 4 weeks. The windows were exactly what I was looking for and fitting them was a breeze. I followed up with another order for the remaining 13 windows in my porch and again, they arrived quickly, were of great quality, exactly to size and easy to fit. "Over the years we have undertaken many renovations to the homes in which we have lived. To do the renovation of our patio room into an all-season room, we spent a month interviewing six different builders and getting estimates. We liked how thorough Fredericksburg Builders were in discussing with us our ideas for our all-season room. We were also impressed with how they itemized and presented the contract to us. They offered ideas, and listened to our ideas and revisions throughout the planning period. When we finally decided upon the plans for the renovation their construction supervisor was very thorough in going over the contract  to make sure that we were all on the same page. Their estimate of the cost was the most economical of all the contractors we interviewed. <br /> Once the construction started, the crews arrived on time to begin the demolition of the old patio enclosure. From that point forward, all materials for the construction were delivered on time and on site for the crews to promptly begin work. All of the crews that worked on our project had a good work ethic, were polite, and cleaned up the site after their workday. Crews were diligent about not damaging our rubberized surface around the pool area by having plywood covering the area throughout the project. <br /> The heating system was somewhat of a challenge. We had hot-water radiant heat in the floor of the existing family room. For the new addition, we wanted to extend the radiant heat to the new portion of the all-season room. The heating contractor, Alpine Heating, evaluated the existing system and devised a means of connecting the radiant floor heating to the existing water boiler. <br /> All the crews were knowledgeable and efficient. They did an outstanding job laying the new tile after they had ripped up the old. The siding, doors, and windows were installed skillfully. But, what was really impressive was that they retrieved some of our old exterior bricks to finish off the fireplace in a manner we never expected so that it is a feature of the new all season room. The gate to our fence around the pool which the new all season room faces when finished looked like the original. <br /> What was exceptional was how the construction supervisor was always on top of things, willing to listen, and was concerned with how the end result would meet our expectations! We can only say that the addition of the new all season room far exceeded our expectations! <br />"

"The entire project went way better than expected. From the initial designs, which changed multiple times, to the final measurements and installation. The designer, Terra, was very responsive, and pointed out what would and would not work which made the process much easier for us. The owner of the company personally did our final measurements and made some minor tweaks to the design that we would have missed. The 3D designs they gave us we're amazingly realistic, and made us comfortable with the layout. Every appointment we had with them from design, to measure, to install, and the process of granite selection, measurements and installation we're exactly on time and professional. Terra even came to our house personally on install day to make sure there was no confusion on the layout. We had a minor issue with adjustment of a couple of doors, and Terra had someone here 2 days later to make the minor adjustment. Couldn't be happier with the way it went. I met them at the Home Show in the spring and knew they were the right fit for us. The cabinets we selected are super high quality, and much more reasonably priced than I expected. There were NO surprises. I would definitely hire them again or refer them to a friend or family member."

"We were VERY HAPPY with our experience. After hearing so many horror stories about construction and previously living through the nightmare (as a child with my parents), my husband and I have always done work ourselves. While that does save money and ensures a project is completed to our standards, unfortunately our current schedule would not allow us to tackle a project of this size. Having more knowledge than most, we had many more questions and requests than the normal client may have. Carl was always patient with us and very accommodating. His staff was EXCELLENT! When we did encounter a couple of very minor miscommunications (to be expected with any construction), they immediately made the adjustments upon request. <br /> This was phase one of our construction (as well as our and quot;tester projectand quot;) and we are anxious to start phase two as soon as we are able. I can say without question, we will definitely want Alexander Construction back. We appreciate their QUALITY WORKMANSHIP and ATTENTION TO DETAIL. We are especially thankful they communicated their schedule and stuck to it. We were not tracking them down to do work or wondering when they would show up. When Carl was not at the job site, Tim did a SUPERB JOB of making sure the project ran smoothly and timely. The staff was courteous, friendly, and very professional at all times. We were comfortable with the staff around all our family including our children and my mother in law. We had multiple contractors out to bid this job as well as our future project and we found a couple that were very high and a couple very low and incomplete. We had one that didn't provide an estimate or even a call back to decline the job and another we had to chase for a bid. Alexander Construction ranked with the higher end but Carl's knowledge, patience with our requests, and professionalism helped to seal our decision. We have not been disappointed and am confident this is their standard operating procedures. They have just finished and we are now moving in furniture and can't wait to enjoy our new space. I almost hate to post this review as we want them available to complete our next project in late spring or early summer. <br />"
