"When my dog chewed up our sump pump's power cord in the middle of a very rainy spell a few months ago, Carson Plumbing responded quickly. Not only did they fix it, they ran the cord through a piece of PVC pipe so my dog couldn't put on a repeat performance. We have also used Carson to fix a septic tank pipe and install a new water heater. They always do great work at a reasonable price."

"Our septic system installed nearly 40 years ago. Sewage coming up in yard over tank so worried about system failure and tens of thousands to replace field. Jamie came to evaluate and give ideas and estimate. He was awesome, told us his thoughts, detailed exactly what he'd do, and gave us a cost. Other companies came, very vague on what they'd do, one wouldn't give an idea of what might cost. The day Jamie came, I watched him, he did exactly what he said he'd do. I looked into the hole before he backfilled... I feel confident we won't have an anothe issue as long as we live here. THANK YOU!!"

"Provider was responsive to request for service appointment.  Didn't have required part to effect repair, so went to Hom Depot to get it.  Charged an additional $175+ above voucher cost.  I haven't had plumbing work done for a very long time, so I'm not familiar with then current costs.  However, it seemed a little overpriced. <br />"

"Andy, the certified plumber from Henson Mechanical HVAC & plumbing, was very punctual. I was told to expect a plumber between 8 am until noon, and Andy came at 9:30 am. He was very friendly and got right to work installing a new 40 gallon water heater. The job only took him about two hours. After he completed the work, he showed me how to re-light the pilot light if it ever goes out and explained what he replaced. He also, free of charge, helped me remove an old cartridge from the shower in my master bathroom since my shower had been dripping. I had already bought the new cartridge at a big box store, and he was happy to install it for me. There were no other "catches" to the deal for the new water heater I bought through Angie's List, for which I was very glad. I would highly recommend Henson Mechanical HVAC & Plumbing and would call them again for any plumbing needs. <br />"

"I really wanted to have a good review for BDry. The original salesperson was very friendly and helpful, and the team who came out was very respectful and really worked hard. And for starters, the system was finally installed, and my basement is waterproofed. That being said, I will not be recommending them to others. A one day job turned into 3 drawn out weeks between scheduling BDry to come out a second and third time to finish the "one day" job and to repair mistakes and then also having to reschedule our very busy contractor multiple times to work around BDry's schedule. This resulted in several days without pay for my wife and several wasted personal days that I had to take off from teaching. All told, they did not even fix everything when they came out to do repairs as the onsite worker had told me they would. They had ripped up some of our epoxied basement floor with tape (accidentally), but then when I spoke with a representative about it, they essentially said that they didn't deal with small things like that and that it was my problem. Fortunately, we had just had the epoxy done the past year so we could still find it in store. Unfortunately, the stuff only comes in a $117 container. The biggest issues came with the original salesman giving us certain specifications that we had to have met with demo work before they could come and install the system. Those were communicated to our contractor: "Cut the studs one foot up from the wall". We made sure this happened. When they arrived, they said it had to be demo-ed even further and were going to charge me a fee for it, even though we had demo-ed the way they told us. That was sorted out, and we weren't charged the fee. However, they then proceeded to cut halfway up our walls, mutilating the studs and the drywall above it with the precision of elephants. This translated to a lot of extra labor and a bit more in material costs for our contractor. Our contractor then helped put together an estimate for how much more BDry directly cost us, and it amounted to $400. $400 was a good bit more for us to be paying right now, but I thought it would be no problem at all to get BDry to cover that for us, especially since we weren't even factoring in all of my wife's lost wages. They were resolute in not giving me any discount, insisting that I should be satisfied with them "Not charging me the $300 demo fee", which is irrelevant since it was their mistake that they had to demo more in the first place. Overall, while I am very relieved that the basement is finally finished, I am exhausted from this process dragging on and am very displeased with the company's lack of consideration for our time or the extra money they cost us. I will not be considering them in the future, and I will be warning as many others away from them as possible."

"The leak occurred when local plumbers were slammed with work, and most couldn't get out in a hurry. Toward the end of the day, one of the plumbers we had contacted referred us to Mr. Jones, and he was out within an hour. He found the leak and fixed it within another hour or two, so we got water back the same day. Then, he dealt with two calls from me in subsequent weeks when I saw standing water and was worried the lead had returned (it hadn't). He even came out again once to reassure me, and he helped fill out the paperwork to get partial credit from my water company."

"Ok, Jeremy, Ken and Garrett just finished some work on my house for $1,150.39, it was quality work that needed to be done since my house was build in 1950. They even found stuff that should have never been allowed to be in the house, that the inspector missed. Because of all this crazy pandemic stuff going on they have been pulled pretty thin. The only complaint would be that it took several and I mean several times, and dates before they were able to finish the job. With that being said I truly appreciate them coming and staying late the last day to finish the job. We now have a bathroom that for over a year was broken that we can now use, which makes my daughter very happy. I will definitely use them again and recommend this company to others that are in need of plumbing. I also liked how Darren the owner came out and even explained some issues we were having. I appreciate this company, and that they are a small business during this time we need to support companies like this one."

"Technician told us after the leak search that we needed a new indoor coil. That plus 2-3 pounds of freon would be $1,787-$2,367. Totally pushing for a new system Took it under advisement. It IS 11 years old. Solicitated a 2nd opinion. After all, we had just spent $640 on a non-refundable new filter, motor and leak search. The 2nd company has been voted #1 in the Athens Banner Herald Reader's Choice Awards for 7 years running. New company tightened the leaking Schrader valve (missed in the bi-annual inspection of 2 weeks before as well as the motor replacement?) and the pressure went up. Now we were only short about a pound of freon. Not uncommon in an 11 year old system. New company did not charge to look for the leak in the inner coil. Included in the service agreement. Their yearly service agreement is $15 cheaper than Jordan. He used two different instruments and spent about good long time looking for a leak. He did not find one. Liked the 2nd opinion better, of course - realizing that the system has a limited life. Hoping we have bought at least a year or 2. The sales pressure was non existent with the new company. Wrap up on Jordan Air? I have really liked the technicians and especially the people I talk to on the phone at Jordan. Nice folks - especially the last several years. But I have always felt high pressure from the technicians for additional services. Kind of like at the Toyota place. I would gather they are paid commissions on these services. Would totally recommend a 2nd opinion with expensive repairs."

"If you are wanting fabulous water at your home or office, I highly recommend Metro Water Filter of the South! They just came out to my house for their 5 year filter change. So amazing to see the old filters compared to the new filters. They have great customer service! My daughter is now at college and asked what she missed the most about home and she said the water!!! "I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Canon, GA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
