"After visiting other flooring stores, we found Floor Mart. I say found because we have passed them many times before and did not see the store, as it is set back from Pine Island road with a small sign. We were helped by Jeff, who was very helpful and courteous. We picked out our choice, and made an appointment for an estimate. Jeff came out promptly and gave us a quote. It was not the lowest, but we felt that the floor was worth more and felt comfortable with them because of reviews and experience. Our new floor was installed the next week, very professionally, by some gentlemen who were fast and neat. The end result was a beautiful new floor. One small molding piece was missing, it was ordered and the same crew came back and finished. In this area there are hundreds of flooring stores. You owe it to yourself to stop in and see Jeff. We will recommend him to all our friends without hesitation!"

"Carpet needed to be manufactured by the mill so the intended installation date got pushed off, but Abbey went above and beyond to make sure the job was done by the deadline we he had."

"They answered my call immediately and came out to stretch my carpet the same day. Not only did they do a great job on the carpet, but they caused no marks on the woodwork, left no mess, and were a pleasure deal with, all at a price lower than I expected. I will definitely call them for any future projects, and I highly recommend them to anyone needing carpet stretching, repair or installation!"

"Excellent! I couldn't be happier. After the measure by Ed Ehlen, I determined my budget and selected the carpet. Ed was generous with his time to answer any questions I had and even made a follow-up visit once the carpet was selected to verify the yardage for pattern matching. <br /> Once the carpet arrived, an appointment was made for the install. His experienced installers showed up right on schedule ready to work installing the new pad and carpet. Each of the employees had well over 10 years of experience with this same business! <br /> It's the little things that say a lot about a company. When the installers saw the carpet strips were placed too far away from the wall with the original carpet, they didn't hesitate to make the job right. They removed the old ones and put new ones closer to the baseboard before installing the new pad and carpet. <br /> The room looks beautiful! <br />"

"My first room was my large florida room (can't remember how many square feet off hand but it wasn't a small job). They installed the tile when they said they were going to, explained the process, the guys who installed cleaned up after themselves, very professional as well and they finished the job in a timely manner. The finished job was good quality work, which is very important to me. I had them install tile in one of my bedroom's and the same awesome work ethic and good quality workmanship was demonstrated. Thanks guys! <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Cape Coral, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
