"This company provides the level of Customer Service that is seldom found in the world today. When you find a company with the Customer Service level I received by Amy, that is the company you will definitely do repeat business. The quality of Cabinets is great, but when you have the Customer Service support, like Amy, that’s a BONUS. I highly recommend Cabinets for everyones’s cabinet needs."

"I was looking to renovate my condo kitchen with some high quality custom cabinets. Because my condo is on the big island of Hawaii and I am off-island most of the time, I needed to find a professional cabinet maker who I could trust to get the job done with minimal headache and would stand behind their work. I did a lot of research of cabinet makers on the big island and came across Jay's Custom Cabinets. Jay Bartholomew, the owner, came to my condo and did the initial measurement in my absence, put together a concept design and provided an initial quotation. My condo is on the Kona-side and Jay's business is on the Hilo-side (it's a long distance), so I was a little worried about this but I had a good feeling based upon other references. We firmed up the initial design and finalized with upper and lower Euro-style, full-height cabinets in Sapele veneer and solid Sapele Shaker cabinet doors, soft close drawers and hinges, a couple of lazy susans, handles and knobs, stainless steel sink, crown moulding, a built-in pantry cabinet, lowering the pony wall and making a Sapele veneer front wrap, and installing a Cambria quartz counter top in Torquay. Once we had firmed up a design, Jay came back and met with us in-person and made final measurements. Of course, no project is perfect from the start - we changed our minds a few times on some design elements which cost us some money and causes hassles but Robin Correa handled all of these issues to our satisfaction and gave us good advice on various design elements. They did allow us to do our own kitchen demolition which saved us $500. The schedule suited us fine because we are off-island most of the time but your experience might differ if you are anxious to get your kitchen done and you have to sit in the queue while things are getting built and then scheduled for installation along with everyone else. When installation day came around the installers arrived promptly at 8am and began work. They had the unenviable task of carrying up a large piece of quartz counter top to the second floor without damaging anything which they managed to do successfully. By the time I arrived in the early afternoon, most of the cabinets, including the pantry, were installed along with the counter tops. They completed their work around 7pm. They would return a week later, after I tiled the floor, to install the toe kicks and put in some trim pieces. Jay's Custom Cabinets team did a great job from inception to completion and I couldn't be happier with the results. The pictures show what an excellent job they did. The cabinets are built and finished exceptionally well, the counter top looks fantastic with the wood and I enjoyed working with a professional and prompt team. A word about the price - well, you're on an island in the middle of the Pacific, things just generally cost more than on the mainland. For me, the design services, the quality of the materials and workmanship, the expert installation and the excellent project management justified the cost. I highly recommend them and I will have them do my bathroom cabinets and counter tops when I do that renovation.
"

"I ordered the cabinets and appliances the second week of January and they were supposed to be here the first week of April. They were not installed until the first week of May. The cabinets themselves are beautiful and the installation and the layout is perfect.. I have a most beautiful kitchen thanks to Dieter and Joey and would use them again if I had the opportunity.
"

"Terrific experience from beginning to end. VERY professional. We visited the showroom, then Brent Potter came to the house to measure, listen to our needs and sketch out designs. I had to go back to the mainland but when I got back, we went to the showroom, made some revisions, got suggestions for the changes, and agreed to a plan for all three rooms--two bedrooms and one office area. These are pretty substantial installations. There are many choices of woods, patterns, etc. We opted for items beyond the basic levels. We got 1. Small bedroom, double wall bed, desk space along an entire wall--height specific for sewing, with two drawer stacks, mouse holes for cords, and a pull out shelf for sewing machine. Beadboard level of trim. Wall bed goes up, out of the way until guest come. 2. Somewhat larger bedroom, queen sized wall-bed, drawers are both sides of bed, remote controlled lighting above the bed for reading, and bookshelves on the one side (other side, drawers are under a window). We chose raised wood design. 3. Office--u shaped desk area, main length is a 10 foot wall with returns on both sides less than 10 feet. Four large file drawers, two drawer stacks (one file drawer and two drawers), plus two upper cupboards and stacker for paper. All sized to the space and care taken for existing windows. A pull out shelf for the photo printer, Some storage tucked back under one side which is perfect for paper, boxes of file folders, etc. Think a space for photography work, genealogy and mundane life tasks, such as bill paying. We chose maple and Italia.
The installers were terrific, installed precisely, cleaned up well, adjusted a shelf at our request and explained everything in detail. Very professional company, every person and all products--top experience here or anywhere else we have lived. Local owners and in business for the long haul.
Note, wall beds do not include the mattresses but they have a professional relationship with a firm which makes appropriate height mattresses--includes a discount and free delivery.
Note on cost: It adds up and every time you add a feature the cost goes up, but when you try to do something for a specific space, even using IKEA shipped here, it really adds up and you cannot get the custom measurements and space and quality you get with their approach and products. We are HAPPY."
