"Company had previously installed a water heater in a timely and professional manner. Thought of them immediately for the kitchen remodel. Ken did a very efficient job in disconnecting the faucet lines, garbage disposal, and drain pipes. What was truly phenomenal was the quickness of response when a water pipe was broken, not once, but on two different occasions during the installation of the new cabinets. Ken was there to fix the problem in a very short period of time. The reconnection of water line, disposal, and drain pipes was flawless. All of this at a very reasonable price. Hats off to a very professional person and company."

"I had a new garbage disposal added and replaced a kitchen faucet and replaced or fixed a leaky pipe as well as replacing 2 Pop ups in 2 bathroom sinks. The bill came to $1372 for just under 4 hours of work. We already paid for the kitchen faucet, so the price included the new garbage disposal which was around $300. I think he may have provided a pipe or two.. The price seemed pretty steep considering he honored a $30 Angie's list cupon. The plumber was very friendly and seemed very competent. They were on time."

"I hired Kinetico to install a full house reverse osmosis system. I bought a house in Lehigh Acres that a master plumber said "this is the worst smelling sulphur water I have seen in over ten years" about. After installation the rotten egg/sulphur smell has been completely removed. Everyone from the installer, to Rick the salesmen and Marcus the customer experience manager has been fantastic. I would recommend them to anyone needing help with their water quality."

"Removed old nonworking water filter system from another company and nstalled a reverse osmosis water system. It works great and the installer was very prompt and professional. "We dealt directly with Steve. He 100% knows what he's doing. The city hires him for all kinds of things. We checked out quite a few competitors for water softener prices. Really no comparison. We ended up buying a water softener on Craig's List and then purchased the whole house filtration. Steve exceeded our expectations on the installation. YES I would use him again. Very knowledgable and competitive pricing."

"The plumber was here about 10 minutes before scheduled appointment.  He was excellent - went right to work and had the
dishwasher installed within an hour.  He also brought the old one to the curb for special garbage pick up the next day.  He was          professional in every way, and we would not hesitate to call Dan's Plumbing in the future.

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Captiva, FL

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
