"Drew Efimoff of Coastal Designs and his team of contractors did an amazing job on our complete kitchen remodel. In short, the workmanship was impeccable, he finished way ahead of his estimated due date, and he did the work for exactly the amount stated in his proposal. Drew was also one of the most responsive individuals I have ever worked with in any profession. He personally answered the phone every time I called, he responded to every email and text within a very short period of time, and he was exceptionally punctual to every meeting we arranged. We first contacted Drew in early August of 2019 based on a recommendation from a friend. He answered the phone directly, and we set up a meeting to discuss possibilities of a kitchen remodel. He arrived exactly at the designated time, and spent a lot of time discussing options and approximate costs. Once we told him we were serious, he returned to make detailed measurements so he could provide us with a quotation. In about a week, we had another meeting where he presented us with a beautiful proposal, including some design options. The proposal was over 20 pages, bound and with section tabs. Each step of the project was detailed and costed. We accepted his proposal, and arranged to start work on Oct. 31st. We were planning to be out of town for the month of November, which would make things easier for everyone. Per the agreed payment schedule, we provided a deposit for cabinets, and worked with Drew and some excellent and very experienced suppliers to select appliances, flooring, counter tops, and backsplash. Drew knew the people we should work with and made excellent introductions which made this part of the process quite easy. Drew and his crew arrived on schedule to start demolition as we prepared to vacate the house. While we were gone, Drew sent occasional pictures so we could see the status. I also returned a few times to check things out in person and take care of personal matters. We were unbelievably surprised when we returned two days before Thanksgiving to find the kitchen 98% complete with flooring, cabinets, counter tops, tile backsplash, new lighting, and plumbing. The day after we returned, appliances were installed, and we had a functional beautiful new kitchen. Coastal Designs went from start to finish in less than 4 weeks. Drew guaranteed less than 8 weeks, and we were hoping he would finish in around 6 weeks. We never expected to come home to a virtually completed kitchen remodel. Also, Drew was exceptionally good about follow-up details. He sent a cleaning service over to dust the whole house, a carpet specialist get the carpet perfectly butted up with the tile, and the painter to make minor touch ups as necessary. He also helped make minor adjustments to cabinets so everything aligned and operated perfectly. We are so very happy! We might have been able to save a few bucks with another contractor, but I don't think the results would have been near as good or as easy for us. I really can’t imagine a remodeling project could go any better than what Drew and his Coastal Designs team achieved."

"Having hosted the HGTV program “My House is Your House”, we’ve worked with and vetted many cabinet builders across San Diego and Southern California. I cannot understate enough how much of a mistake it was to choose Mr Cabinet Care for our kitchen cabinets on an Encinitas project. We are extremely disappointed with our experience with Mr Cabinet Care. We arranged & purchased custom cabinet drawer fronts that were supposed to be high-quality, but they arrived with noticeable gaps. the gaps were problematic for two reasons: 1. for the drawers / doors that closed incorrectly and 2. for being prone to collecting food debris (and unable to clean or remove that debris). When I contacted the company about this clear defect (the food /gap error), they completely dismissed my concerns, blaming “care and maintenance” instead of acknowledging the poor workmanship. Even worse, they provided doctored photos in an attempt to shift the blame, falsely suggesting that residue such as gum or putty had been left on the drawers. Not only was this completely untrue—no such residue existed in any of the photos we originally provided, nor in any additional photos we took. Falsifying evidence to avoid responsibility is not just dishonest; it’s unethical and gives us even greater concern over other claims they’ve made in workmanship or materials. The operations manager even said “The material you selected, White Oak Select, is naturally prone to expansion and contraction due to environmental factors such as heat and humidity. Upon reviewing the photos taken by the technician, it appears that the issues you are experiencing are likely related to care and maintenance, rather than any manufacturing defect.” These were installed weeks prior to our notice, not years later, and during a cool weather season. To claim extreme weather (like heat & humidity) in San diego is laughable and outrageous. Under California law, products like these are covered by warranties ensuring they are fit for their intended purpose. These drawer fronts clearly do not meet that standard, yet the company refused to honor its obligations. Instead of standing behind their product, they chose to manipulate the situation to avoid accountability. Beware if you work with them and have future warranty issues, youre going to likely run into similar defenses and accusations. I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with this company. If they are willing to misrepresent facts and dismiss valid concerns, I can only imagine how they handle other customer complaints. We regret this purchase for our client and would never recommend them to anyone looking for quality craftsmanship or honest customer service. We will not be using them for any future HGTV projects nor recommending them to other clients or customers"

"Thank you to Julio Valle from John Padilla Plumbing, Inc. After I had a lukewarm shower, I called Padilla Plumbing based on their 5 star reviews on various platforms. They had an opening the next afternoon. The gentleman on the phone gave me an estimate for replacing the water heater if that was necessary & told me their service charge would go toward any repair that they did for me. The next day, a gentleman called to say the plumber was running late & would miss the time window. What would I like to do? I opted to have the plumber come the same day if he could do it in the daylight. Julio arrived about 20 minutes later! Yay!! Julio was very professional & courteous. He tested the in-house faucets (upstairs & down) for water temperature. Then we went down to the water heater in the garage. He adjusted the temp on one of the heating elements as it was much lower than the other one. Again, he tested water temps upstairs & the water was already warmer!! This seems to be a well-run, responsive plumbing company that I will call again when needed. Highly recommend."
