When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

"I purchased "2-hours of
Electrical Service ($200 value)" for $99.  I was interested in having
motion detector lighting installed in the backyard and had a pre-purchased
light fixture ready. The individual technician showed up on time and after some
discussion, and my providing a ladder, went into the attic/crawl space behind
the wall where the light would be installed.  New wiring had to be
installed and the technician couldn't come up with a way to be able to turn OFF
the light if necessary.  Three hours after his arrival, and an additional
$100 later, the light was installed and he left.  Within two months, the
light began flashing for no apparent reason and we had to climb a ladder in the
dark (with flashing light in our eyes) to attempt to turn it off or adjust the
settings.  Called the manufacturer who sent a small baffle for the sensor,
this worked for a few more months and then the light just stayed on from dusk
to dawn until the bulb burned out.  A frustrating experience all the way
around, not one I can blame on the electrician from Power Up, but discouraged
that he couldn'ttry to find a way to add an over-ride.
