"I used Dalton carpet 8 years ago and was satisfied. I needed to replace master, hall and stairs before I listed home to sell. Greg promptly returned my call and scheduled appointment. He showed up, knew the type and color of the carpet I was matching. Measured, and I had the new carpet installed 6 days later. I had a very squeaky floor and stairs.  They took care of that also. Great service. <br />"

"Marty and his crew did a great job and were extremely professional throughout the process. Marty gave us an honest evaluation of what we should have done rather than trying to sell us on a more expensive solution. The job was done well and we love the new carpet they installed to our downstairs. Would recommend and will re-hire when it comes time to do our upstairs."

"I went to Bell's Carpet looking for some new carpet for a well trafficked room of my home.  The associate who assisted me, Brenda, was very knowledgeable and patient (I had never purchased carpet before).  I decided on the carpet, Brenda came out and measured the area to be carpeted to give me a final price, I paid a 50% deposit, and the carpet was ordered.  The carpet arrived in approximately 2 weeks, and the installation was scheduled for 3 weeks.  The installers came and installed the carpet in one afternoon, and they finished clean-up to my satisfaction before they left. <br />"

"Excellent results. I had just bought a 20 year old house and the carpet needed some freshening before I moved in. The house was empty of all furniture so the job was fairly straight forward, but it was done efficiently and effectively. The carpet was left immaculately clean and had a fresh clean scent. They even cleaned a couple of pieces of scrap carpet I had upon request and at no extra charge."

"Dennis did a fabulous job! I have used four other carpet cleaning services over the past 10 years and no one did as good a job as Premium Steam--and they were less expensive. The carpet has never looked as good--almost like new. Dennis was friendly, professional, careful, and took his time to do the job right. I could not be more pleased."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Carrboro, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
