"The project was done and completed Oct. 19. We had 2 low flow urinals installed in our Church restroom. Mike was very efficient and the job was done. Had to call him again 2 days later to check on a leak which he explained had something to do with the building's old rusty pipes. I agree with him. They did what they can and we just hope the pipes hold until we are ready to replace them."

"Ory, at Universal Home Design, is a professional and extraordinary contractor.  He was referred to me by a good friend.  From the first call to the completion of the project, we felt confident and trusting of Ory and his crew.  

At first, I reached out to inquire about fixing water damage from an ongoing leak from the third floor down to the basement.  Ory said he could come by that same day, then gave me a time and showed up within minutes of the appointment.

He was very friendly and patient as he sat down and took his time to get to know me, my in-laws (it was their house) and, my husband, answering all the questions we had and making sure everyone was on the same page.

As he began to investigate the root of the problem, he walked us around the area, explaining his findings and the ways to fix it.
The original plan was to replace the shower, but as our family felt more confident with Ory, we decided to remodel the entire bathroom.
This was exciting yet nerve-wracking for my retired in-laws but Ory went beyond his call of duty and treated them like friends, walking us through the entire process.  He made things easy, bringing samples for us to choose from and giving clear, direct instructions on the items we needed to order.  When we went to the tile store, he came along and gently guided us.  He never pushed a product or style and was very good at listening, and communicating his ideas, suggestions, advice and concerns.  

The crew, at Universal Home Design, were on time every day on the job.  They were courteous and hard working and always cleaned up after themselves. Ory always introduced every crewmember so we knew their names and who was coming through the house. 

Throughout the remodel, he kept me on track with the fixtures and timeline I needed to order them.  He was thorough, always making sure I have the info and specs I needed for the research to make my selection.  
When things were installed, Ory would check in to see if we were happy and he always prefaced with, "if you're not happy, I have no problem taking it out and doing it again."  He would never make you feel guilty or bad about anything.  Actually, when our bathtub was installed, we realized it was too small so he took it out, ordered and paid for a new one and took the loss on the return.

When I went out of town, leaving my retired parents with Ory in the middle of the project, he texted and called periodically to give me updates and sent pictures of the progress.  My parents had no issues or concerns throughout the entire process.  I think Ory probably sets the record for the most responsive and communicative contractor in the world - for real!

I can not say enough great things about Ory.  The bathroom looks amazing and my parents are really enjoying it.  The quality and workmanship are superb and we are very pleased, especially my parents who get to enjoy it.

I highly recommend Ory and his team but with reservation because I'd rather keep Universal Home Design all to ourselves!

"Nathan impressed from the time I first met him. He was far more professional than other contractors in terms of describing how his company works and what I should expect if I worked with him. He also has a nice showroom where you can look a variety of cabinets in different styles and colors as well as countertops. We ended up getting a countertop that he suggested. We would never had picked it on our own but it ended up looking amazing in our kitchen. We had him do a complete remodel of our kitchen and one of our bathrooms. The guys on his crew were always prompt and showed up as scheduled. His foreman was both a good communicator and listener. Whenever we ran into an unexpected issue, they communicated clearly what additional costs would be involved (if any) and how much additional time it might take. The cabinets he installed were custom made but did not cost more than the pre-fab ones you can buy at the large home improvement stores. They are of high quality and well constructed. I actually saw his cabinet guy using a small caliper to make sure the door distances from the cabinets were all even! Lastly...here's something you'll never hear about a contractor...he finished AHEAD of time! Nathan's company are straight shooters and very skilled craftsmen. I would work with them again."

"I don’t even know how to begin this review for Tomer Malki from ITM Construction! Let me preface and say that my husband and I (first-time homeowners) bought a fixer-upper in the Mid-city area. The house was built in the 1920s and needed a great deal of TLC. And by that I mean a complete renovation (kitchen, bathrooms, wall removal, refinishing the hardwood floors, plumbing, electricity – you name it!). We love old, historic homes, and were looking to work with someone who could preserve our house’s integrity, while offering a modern update. We had been in touch with a handful of other contractors during escrow, all of whom made us doubt our decision to buy the house, saying, more or less, that it would be a massive, lengthy, and expensive project. After having our plans approved by the city, we met a few other contractors, but still didn’t feel like we found the right person. We finally met Tomer, which literally felt like a fresh breath of (optimistic) air! He spent over three hours carefully scrutinizing the house, offering his vision for what it could become, making suggestions that would maximize our space while minimizing our expenses, and chanting, “There are no problems. Only solutions.” After the meeting, my husband and I felt Tomer was the first and only contractor who actually made us feel like the job would get done! And that is exactly the type of attitude Tomer maintained throughout our renovation project. He was extremely communicative, arriving to the house every single day, keeping us updated on the progress, and consulting with us along the way. He’s smart, creative, easygoing, and has a sharp eye. He is such a pleasure to work with! And, I should stress, he also works with an incredible team of highly talented individuals! His team was able to recreate the patterns resembling the original plaster from the 1920s inside the house, while matching the stucco from the outside. They built a new master closet from scratch. We also bought reclaimed tiles, and we were so relieved that they were installed flawlessly. I’m talking about one hundred year old fire-glazed tiles. (We even sent photos to the company where we purchased them, and the owner said it was one of the best installations she had ever seen during her twenty years in the business.) The crewmembers were always friendly, responsive, and hard-working. And our kitchen is a dream!! Tomer helped us design the kitchen, which was a challenge, given the limitations because of HPOZ (historic city zoning). He planned a perfect layout, getting into details of the proper lighting, the placement of appliances, and the types of cabinets we would utilize the most. The cabinetry is of the finest quality, along with the beautiful granite installation. When we had ideas for how we wanted the house to be designed (and there were plenty), he always found ways to make it happen. For instance, Tomer was able to assist us with our own vision: transforming antique dressers into bathroom vanities!! He was also able to refer us to different stores with competitive prices (coupled with his contractor’s discount). After only three months of renovation, completed according to our contract, we are now living in our dream home!! The level of workmanship, the dedication, the attention to small details – all exceeded our expectations!!
