"This project was for remodeling 3 bathrooms and a total kitchen remodel. The construction workers were very skilled. They were very good about listening to our suggestions along the way. I would suggest that the construction foreman be present along with the salesman when the project is estimated so that technical issues and be better clarified. For example, we removed carpet and installed DVT vinyl flooring which resulted in different leveling issues. These issues could have been resolved early on rather than brainstorming solutions with the workers at the ends. The project was done on time as scheduled even though we added some changes along the way. The electrical subcontractor should have clarified options for wiring for the kitchen better. The only negative comment I can make is that we thought the cost was a little high, however the quality was very good. The final project is beautiful."

"My wife is Russian and Russians love saunas, so I ordered custom logs from the mountains and had Mr. Viss construct a sauna with them.  This required any number of skills and Mr. Viss had all of them. People have been calling this finest private sauna they have ever seen.  You can't go wrong with Mr. Viss."

"Had a great experience with RN3 for a kitchen remodel. Their price was reasonable and beat several other companies by a good amount. Had new countertops and backsplash installed and new cabinet and drawer fronts with new hardware. They also replaced florescent box lighting with canned lighting. I was very happy with the outcome and the would use them again. "

"Peter Barkann responded quickly to my initial inquiry, he looked at my garage and provided an estimate. He scheduled a day to perform the work, arrived on time, worked all day until approximately 5-6 pm. There was a problem with the white paint chips (reason for B rating) protruding through the top coat but Peter timely responded and fixed the issue to my satisfaction. I would hire Peter again and would recommend him to family and friends. <br />"

"When we decided to have a sliding glass door installed in our bedroom, we had no idea the depth of work required. Jose Fregoso of Bob Leonard and Associates saw this job through to a perfect completion. From the time Jose came to the house to provide an estimate to the completion of this job, Jose scheduled and ensured all work was completed to our satisfaction, within our schedule and on time. All flooring, paint and stucco was matched perfectly to existing materials. Jose made recommendations on door styles and types and we couldn't be more pleased with the Pella door he recommended. There was a problem with the screen door and Jose worked with Pella to ensure it was replaced. Jose was very professional, responsive, and so easy to work with. All of the employees of Bob Leonard and Associates were professional, and pleasant to work with. <br /> The final measure of quality - you would never know that there was any remodel work done here. It looks like original construction (inside and outside)!"

"Mike and Ed did a great job! They were very professional and knowledgeable in what was a somewhat difficult repair. I would definitely recommend and use them again for any remodeling or major repairs to my home."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Ceres, CA

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
