"I am pleased with the work that was done. The stamped concrete slab looks great and is an excellent patio we start enjoying. Here are some details of the overall work: Due to high demand my work was scheduled 6 weeks ahead from the initial quote. The work started with only 1 day delay from the initial schedule. If you think that the weather have an big impact on concrete jobs only 1 day delay on scheduling 6 weeks out is fantastic! Any questions I had were responded in 1 day max. Team was professional, the work was done in a timely matter with no disruption to our schedule as we are working from home. Workers started early (about 7 am) and I was notified about the schedule ahead of time. The site was left clean as agreed with the company. Few team members did finishing jobs (water, clean and seal) in days after the concrete was poured. Hardly noticed their presence. I had 3 other quotes from companies from our area and this one was almost the lowest. I wish I had done the work few years ago."

"This company did a wonderful job on the pavers for the patio. It seem to be a difficult job due to the slope we have in the back yard. They executed the job great. We are very happy with the results. I would recommend them to my family and friends any day."

"Concrete driveway leveling and crack repair work was performed to our satisfaction, by a 2 man crew, who arrived promptly at 8 am and completed the repairs in less than 4 hours. <br /> The work was expertly done. Almost half of the driveway had settled with resultant cracks and joint movement, caused by water intrusion into the substrate below the slab.  The slab has now been raised back up to level by drilling small holes in the slab and filling below with light weight dense foam, pressure injected. Upon completion of the leveling process, all the crack joints were filled with sand cement topped off with a flowable epoxy, thus sealing the joints. <br /> Observing the work as it was done, I was impressed by the skill level shown and, especially, the judgement of how much injection can be done without causing further cracking to occur due to over filling, or uneven filling. <br /> It is important for potential customers to know that this is repair work.  The intent is to make the driveway completely functional and safe. The evidence of it being repaired will be obvious but should, when finished properly, be acceptable.  The only alternative, complete demolition, sub slab consolidation and new slab construction, would probably cost at least ten times as much and much longer to complete. <br /> The two men worked diligently, showed a high level of competence and were very courteous at all times.  We were very impressed and would, following this experience, strongly recommend Acculevel, Inc. <br /> Myles Murphy <br />"

"I had on site visits and estimates from 5 companies, and chose Diversified for 3 reasons: Mike Buchman, the estimator, was by far the most knowledgeable,  Diversified's price was the lowest, and they used the best product (Fortress carbon fiber straps).    <br /> Diversified was the only company that  proposed inserting 24' rebar pins going  through the lowest 2 cement blocks into the cement footing below, which will prevent the wall from moving inward.  While the carbon straps prevent bowing, without the rebar pins the wall could still move horizontally.  <br /> Diversified was also the only company that proposed a vertical strap on the wall that was bowing horizontally in addition to bowing vertically.  <br /> Diversified's proposal included only the necessary amount of straps.  One other company proposed far more straps than were necessary, which I figured was just to rip me off and get more money for them.  <br /> It is fairly easy to just glue on the straps, but what is important is an effective design of the straps and neckties that will solve the unique problem of each wall - this is what Diversified offered that the other companies did not. <br /> Although the estimator, Mike , said that he did the work himself only sometimes, in my case he returned to install the straps along with one other worker, which was beneficial to me.  While glueing the straps, he also filled several of he cracks in the wall with epoxy at no extra charge.  Another company had quoted an additional price for filling the cracks. <br /> The straps have worked excellently and no additional cracks have appeared in my walls.  I painted them and they are inconspicuous. <br /> <br />"

"<p>Dan came to my house for an estimate. We walked around my house and I explained what I was looking to have done. He informed me he was busy with other things and that my estimate would take a little longer. It has been a month now and I haven't heard from him yet. Seemed like a nice guy who knew what he was doing but I guess he just isn't interested in small jobs. It would have been nice to know that instead of waiting for weeks for an estimate to show up.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>**Since my original posting I have been in contact with Dan. He accidentally misspelled my email address and that is why I never received my estimate. Even though I have already hired someone to do the work he quoted me I would definitely have him out to give me another estimate on future projects.**<br /> <br /> </p>"

"he is a perfectionist which is good and bad. Deck staining was first project and turned to a disaster-staining was not the color that we picked---turned deck white. He changed to Olympic staining and we picked different colors which worked. Picking colors is not easy=and picking color for the dog fence was hard=decision made to match the shutters. The weather was against us too=got to cold to paint. The bathroom vanity was easy but working with plumbing that existed was difficult. But he was resourceful and seemed very knowlegeable about the issues he faced. I felt he wanted to do a good job and was frustrated by the deck color. <br />"

"They were great to work with; they had a rep come out quickly to inspect out our house and gave us several options on how we could proceed. He discussed what we should consider and helped us pick out the right scope of work for our house and budget. When their team came to do the work, they were professional, handled the job quickly and respectively (which was a huge plus as we had a toddler in the house at the time). They sealed off the part of the house they were working on to limit any dust/dirt from where they were working getting anywhere else. We were very impressed. Our house is a tri-level, so having them waterproof ensured we got to use all our house as intended. Our downstairs is our main family area, and we use it now with no worries. We've had some huge rain events since we our work was done (Fall 2013), and never had any issues. I would highly recommend. - DS, Middlebury, Indiana"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Ceresco, MI

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
