"Scott Viehweg has provided plumbing services for our home several times in the last five years, including waterproofing our basement, installing a sump pump and de-scaling Rinnai tankless heaters.  He recently installed a new Rinnai water heater to replace two which were damaged in October, 2015. <br /> Mr. Viehweg has consistently been very professional, courteous and prompt to respond.  His work is excellent.  As a 25+ year home-owner with a great deal of exposure to both good and poor residential construction practices, I highly recommend Scott Viehweg. <br />"

"There is not enough good I can say about Mr. Bracci and his company Innovation Renovation. They went above and beyond my expectations. Mr. Bracci and his crew were extremely clean and respectful of my home. They always laid down covers and never tracked dirt or anything in my house. The work completed blew me away and was top notch. True craftsmanship and professionalism. He was extremely personable and easy to do business with unlike most contractors. Everything was straight forward and he followed through on everything that was promised. I had such a good experience that my parents in Lexington S.C. used him for a renovation as well. If there is ever anything I need in the future Innovation Renovation are the first people I'm going to call. You are making a mistake if you don't use this company!"

"The work was completed at the quoted cost and on time. I was shown photos of the condition of the sewers lines that were rotted and broken and also pictures of the new lines that were installed. The lines were tested to make sure the installation would be free of leaks. The office also kept me informed with information that was useful. Crew Plumbing and Drain appears to be a family run business which is a positive since each member is working for each other and not just the customer."

"2012- Hall Bath renovation. Straightline did TOP quality work and we are VERY hard to please, let me assure you!  We were told by our pest company we had a bad leak and it was so bad that Straightline had to basically gut and totally renovate the entire hall bath and fix all the plumbing leaks and issues. They were extremely professional, always always showed up on time, and my property manager was so impressed with them that he uses them all the time now. We have been 100% satisfied by the quality on this work. <br /> 2014- Water heater being replaced. Another company gave us an estimate for DOUBLE what Straightline charged us. Straightline is HONEST, reliable, courteous, responsive, and takes time to explain everything in detail to us so that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. He is extremely professional. We trust him completely to allow him to come in while we are at work and work on these items. He had to disassemble the cabinet. He shut down the power, drained the waterheater (the old one) and disconnected the supply lines, and removed the old heater (and took for us to dispose of it).  He ran a new power supply from the waterheater to the panel box, hooked up the power, and wired in new 220 volt 30 amp breaker.  Installed a new water heater, and hooked up supplylines with new shut off valve, filled waterheater, checked for leaks, and hooked up T and P and ran through floor. <br /> 2015- We were having trouble at the rental house with circuit breakers going off and power going off. Marty came right away when we called and he very carefully and meticulously isolated each circuit with each appliance--a very time consuming task---and with 100% professionalism and attention to detail. We know that we are in good hands when we call Straightline!  He was able to discern that he would need to run its own new electrical line from the microwave and from the washing machine. So he scheduled with us to come out at our convenience and again, did the work plus he re-vented the dryer vents for us which had not been installed correctly in the beginning by the former builders or owners.  It is an older home and Marty has helped us to make this home SAFE and correct on all the circuits, GFI's, etc..he goes the extra mile and gets the job done well and in a quality manner, no nonsense. He is courteous and keeps his word on estimates. He cleans up after the jobs very well. <br />"

"I contacted the provider to schedule a visit to provide an estimate for installing a water heater purchased from Home Depot.  The provider said there would be a charge of $59.95.  I replied that Home Depot had not mentioned that.  I called Home Depot & was told there should not be a charge for the estimate & they would call the provider on my behalf.  I asked if they could recommend another provider and was told Home Depot only uses this provider.  I replied that I was not comfortable going forward with this provider and that was the end of it. <br />"

"Aaron at OnCall was very nice and professional. He had to do so much more than originally expected because of what happened to my septic tank. I thought it was just a broken pipe and it ended up being a total failed system. Aaron went above and beyond to get the right professionals out to my property to clean up the problem so he could do a thorough job fixing the plumbing issue. <br />"

"To Summarize: Excellent, professional, great communications, reasonable & affordable pricing, licensed, insured & bonded, timely, and close to Lake Carolina. Robbie communicated initially and rapidly with a quote after hours (I supplied a detailed statement of work requested). We worked out availability (he was available the following day but I wasn't, so we worked it out for the subsequent day). Justin, who did the work, communicated enroute with estimated arrival time, just as Robbie said would happen. After arriving, he mentioned what he would do. The work was done very well and safely (as it involved a blow torch to unsweat the original home's faucet/spigot). There was an issue with the spigot not coming off right away due to it couldn't get hot enough; however, Justin knew from his experience it was due to a little water remaining in the pipe so he angled it appropriately and a successful removal followed shortly after that. He properly worked on the copper pipe (exterior AND interior) to prep it for receiving my provided Sharkbite shutoff valve. He cooled down the pipe enough to then install the valve. Then, he tested it for no leaks and for the valve properly working. I have added this company to my contacts for future plumbing, as well as for gas, as I now know they do that kind of work as well. Several other reasons I contacted this company (in addition to past good ratings and proposed fair rates), is they were very close to my home in Lake Carolina and also that his protections he had in place were more than other 'A' rated companies/contractors, e.g., licensed, insured AND bonded. And he has several additional eco certifications. I am not a plumber but I have done a lot of major and minor plumbing projects over the years. I watched and every bit of work was impeccable."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Chappells, SC

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
