"I recently had my shingle roof replaced and I?m very happy with the results. The team was professional, punctual, and completed the job efficiently. The quality of the work is excellent, and the new roof looks great. They kept the work area clean and communicated well throughout the process. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a roof replacement."

"Workers dropped construction trailer yesterday afternoon & began work this AM. Sergei (owner) stopped by and explained minor changes. Workers very professional & courteous. Bad weather pushed timetable back by a couple of weeks. However, Sergei stayed in touch by phone & stopped by with his framer to go over measurements. So far we are very pleased. Sergei mismeasured opening for storm door which is going to require a custom made door. He explained that he would absorb the additional cost. I admire his honesty. Project completed a few days ago except for storm door. Good job, workers cleaned up everything. Sergei stopped by to be sure we are satisfied & accepted partial payment until custom storm door is here & installed. We also had an issue with during heavy rain we had water leaking into the soffet which they repaired with a j channel. I would definitely use Alliance again for any outside projects or repairs."

"When I first contacted Brian about repairs to my siding, he was responsive and came out and met me. At the time, I loved him. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and proposed a reasonable course of action to attempt repairs on my siding before replacing anything.
A week or two later, I started calling the Neponset Valley Construction office to schedule the work. I left messages both with the person who answered the phone and with Brian's voicemail 4 or 5 times and never received a call back.
Then my wife did the same, again never receiving a call back.
Finally, my wife left a message noting that we had seen a recommendation for this company on Angie's List, were disappointed by the lack of any response when we were trying to schedule work, and that we would be leaving a review on Angie's List and moving on.
Brian almost immediately called my wife back on her cell phone leaving an angry message about us "threatening" them -- ironically, it seems that promising to leave a review that reflected our experience WAS the ONLY thing that got their attention!
Since we had still liked Brian's recommended approach, we called him to smooth over any bad feelings and agreed to try to schedule the work. That call was great! But...
...Brian immediately became non-responsive again. Multiple calls and text messages went unresponded to. Eventually, he suggested that he could fit us in in mid/late November. A ridiculous time frame, but we still tried to schedule a concrete date.... and we were ignored AGAIN.
We gave up and found someone else who came to visit our house, proposed repairs, and performed the repairs within 2 weeks.
Despite Brian's obvious knowledge and talent, he is not worth the headache of trying to deal with him. I recommend you find someone else. Good luck!"

"My experience with Home Improvement Specialists has been excellent. My home needed a wide variety of repairs and upgrades, things that had been neglected in recent years due to my husband's medical issues which prevented him from completing projects he had started when he lost his vision. Unfortunately my husband passed away and I had to hire someone to finish the work he started, and to make some pretty major upgrades to my home. The first person I hired didn’t get very far before needing surgery himself, leaving him incapacitated and unable to do the work. I reached out to Home Improvement Specialists after seeing their excellent rating on Angie’s List and after meeting with, and talking to Jody and Sean extensively about my needs, I immediately had peace of mind in their ability to complete the work and in the skill level of their employees. Every employee that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting has been kind and professional, and have completed their assigned tasks to perfection. Jody and Sean have gone above and beyond for not only me, but also for my mom who recently fell off of her front steps cracking her head open on the side of her house. When I asked for an estimate to install a railing at Mom’s home, after hearing what had happened, Jody not only provided me with the estimate in a day, she also had the railing installed within two days of the accident. Every project to date has been provided at a fair cost by highly skilled employees in a professional and compassionate manner. I will definitely use this company for all of my future projects and would highly recommend them to anyone needing home repairs or home improvements. Michelle Schweitzer Springfield, MA"

"These guys are the greatest! They saved us a lot of money! We had a dumpster before the bullbag and for 3 tons of material and a week rental of the dumpster it cost us $486! We own the bullbag now, had a full bag - 3.5 tons - picked up and it was only $229! We didn't have any rental charges, excess weight fees, or anything! These guys did everything they said they would! OMG! Everyone should use these guys!!!!! Also, I got the bullbag back! I never have to buy another one and its ready to use whenever I feel like doing a clean out or renovation."

"Team arrived early and worked hard all day to finish up by the end of the day. Left site clean and job looks great. Rob even fixed a piece of rotting wood on the side of the house while they were there. 3 years later no issues."

"The SHC crew was very professional and were a pleasure to work with from quote to finishing touches. We needed a small deck built off the back of our house and they were able to make some design suggestions that saved us money and improved the overall quality of the deck. Definitely would reccomend to others."

"NE Renovations is a general contractor whose network of contractors provided services to me as I was getting ready to sell the house.  The electrical service went very well with Mr. Martucci doing great work and advising me about things that did not need to be done.  I feel that he was a great advisor!
The flooring in the basement also went very well with the NE folks advising me about the best way to approach the installation.  Everything was perfect when they left.  I truly appreciated their workmanship.

"The back splash is gorgeous!  (Let me give a shout out to Lynne at Best Tile in Dedham for her help in the tile selection.)
I signed up for an Angie's list back splash tiling deal. I didn't quite understand the intricacies of choosing tile and installing it.  I picked a somewhat elaborate pattern with natural stone tiles. I wanted what I wanted, and Brian and Sam worked with me to get the result and I agreed to pay a supplement to the big deal which I found very fair.
I appreciated that they consulted me if they had any questions about exactly what I wanted (e.g. precisely where to put the medicine cabinets, how to finish the tile where it ended at the edge of wall). I'm happy with these solutions.  They also came up with some very creative solutions around the kitchen window that really enhance the tile work.
We discussed the merits of fully replacing the staircase vs saving the wood that was discolored but generally in good condition.  Overall, the cost was the same, but I appreciate the option to send less building materials to landfill and get a good result.
They were going to install the fireplace granite tile, and they ultimately did not do this as their specialty is in smaller ceramic tiles, and the 24" x 24" stone tiles I purchased needed equipment they don't have.  I really appreciated discussing this.  I think it will be much easier to have someone who specializes in stone to complete this part of the job because Sam did all the hard prep work.
I feel that the team was generally very conscientious about cleaning up after themselves. The only thing I wish I would have done is draped my furniture and made sure various doors were closed - it's a much bigger clean up job than I expected, and I might have been able to avoid some of it.  On the plus side, that part of the house has undergone an early spring cleaning!  And I know that half of the dirt preceded this project.
The project was completed exactly when promised, with allowance for a snowstorm at the start. I gave a B for punctuality because I did get up early to make sure the snow was cleared from the driveway and they arrived later than planned.  I have had the experience more than once that contractors don't show up for days, so an hour or two is a small matter for me, but I note it because if you needed to get to work yourself or something like that, you would probably want to be sure to have a clear agreement.
I look forward to another project with A Few Good Tradesmen.
