"The job was fairly straightforward and I had already procured the sink and most of the additional supplies but the job required some replumbing of both the water supply and drain. The master plumber worked efficiently and professionally and the job was completed in a few hours. The cost was determined from a standard table in a notebook but does not take into account the complexity of the job or whether materials are supplied by owner. Since I supplied most of the materials (plumber supplied valves and pipe and drain fittings) the price seemed rather high for around 3 hours work. However, I've had no professional plumbing work done recently and thus have nothing to compare it to. The plumber was very pleasant and professional and the work of high quality. I have no other complaints."

"I called John's Sewer & Pipe cleaning and was able to get an appointment within 2hrs of calling! John showed up 30 minutes later! My washing machine drain was spilling over in the basement while my wife was showering. When attempting to clean the pipes via the cleanout, the clog was in the sewer line to the street and my small snake wasn't going to cut it. John came over and was able to snake it out fairly quickly right from the street with his large electric snake. He was here for a little under an hour and everything is great now. Highly recommend if you need your sewer line unclogged."

"We were restoring a working circa-1900 bathroom. It was VERY hard to find a plumber on our wavelength because we wanted to save as much as possible, be minimally intrusive, and reuse original fixtures. (also on a budget - all but plumbing and electrical was a DIY job). Vast majority of plumbers don't want to touch old pipes, only interested in gutting everything and starting from scratch - e.g. pulling up entire antique hardwood floor, ditching a beautiful antique sink because faucet holes aren't the right measurement for modern faucets, etc. But Umberto really 'got it' and was willing to work with us. Turns out we did have to replace some old lead pipes under the floor but he did so in the most non-intrusive way possible (removed the planks carefully so we could re-use them). It was an adventure because reusing antique fixtures involved a lot of internet legwork to find drains, faucets etc that fit 100-year-old sink and tub dimensions. I was on my own for that - Umberto was not very interested in engaging with that part of the job (can't really blame him - it was a time-suck and he had other jobs to do) but he was happy to install what I produced and he dropped by several times to check if my purchases would work (will this faucet assembly fit the antique sink? No, ok, return it and try one slightly different). He was also creative about solutions to make things fit. And he remained pleasant throughout. I call him the 'old-pipe whisperer.' Just a really decent man. <br />"
