Ismar and his team tackled everything from demo, tub installation, tile, plumbing, countertop installation, cabinet installation, hardware installation PERFECTLY. Those are some of the hardest working guys I have ever seen. I was impressed daily. Everything turned out amazing, we can’t wait to have them back to do another bathroom. Highly recommend. Cost is about on point with what it should be."

"We actually hired J Hoss for two jobs, and they did a great job with both! Both were tricky operations involving the plumbing of an old beach house, and they came up with effective ways of dealing with every issue. The hot water heater install involved moving an old hot water heater out of a crawlspace and putting a new one in in a closet, and the plumbing lines were a bit wacky due to the way the cottage had been added onto over time. But they solved the problems without tearing out any walls, which was great. The other job involved a DIY project installing a bathroom vanity that we got halfway through before realizing we were over our heads. They were game and jumped right in and worked with us to complete the job. We loved how they collaborated with us and were so cheerful about our amateur efforts! Definitely will hire again."

"the reconstruction of the bathroom is solid. We have no structural issues. We were not thrilled with some of the finishes of products used, but apparently the contractor had not worked with the tile used or the fixtures before. We selected and provided all the products since we have done installations in other homes using them without issue. The reason for the rating lies in the follow up. They are supposed to provide a 1 year warranty. this project took 4 months and was finished in early December 2017. Shortly after we contacted them to let them know that the heated floors were not working. We simply could not set the thermostat! Turns out that between the contractor who installed the heating and the Master electrician who installed the wiring and the thermostat, no one installed the sensors which allows the floors and thermostats to work. they came and did some type of a work around since the floors had already been tiled etc. The master bedroom worked, but the hall bath never has . I contacted him in May 2018 to let him know that there was a constantly blinking red light on the thermostat which could not be turned off. He was supposed to come the next week and to date we have never seen or heard from him. We had to remove the thermostat from the wall and will pay another electrician to rewire it correctly since it clearly was not. . The 1 year warranty is over, so we do not expect to see them again."

"We found John Krause Construction through an Angie's List Big Deal, and"bit" because their reviews were good.  We'd purchased the Big Deal in December and our first appointment was in January.    From the very beginning, we have found the contact and personal attention to be excellent. Troy Wallis, the landscaping expert, came to our house to talk over what we wanted to accomplish.  He provided photos of other projects, had a good look at our site in terms of the plants that would work best in a part-sun, part-shade area, and offered us good advice and lots of choices.  We made choices that took us beyond the Big Deal price, but were not in any way pressured to do so.  He also sent us links to photos and information about the plants he thought would work.  When spring arrived (at last!), he contacted us to let us know when the work would begin. <br /> In about 5 days (we received an email heads-up on the day that the weather wasn't going to cooperate ), Troy and two helpers came daily to accomplish the work.  <br /> --Our old, cracked walkway was removed and replaced with herringbone brick pavers that were meticulously laid and fitted. <br /> --The garden area between the walk and the house was replanted with attractive shrubs and perennials. <br /> --The garden area between the walk and the lawn was defined and replanted. <br /> --Shrubs adjacent to the walk were pruned to create another garden area that was also planted. <br /> --We were given clear information about how large the plants would grow and how to take care of them. <br /> --We were impressed that Troy was on the job the entire time instead of checking in and then vanishing until the end of the day.  <br /> --The workmen were polite, helpful, and hardworking.  <br /> --The job site was cleaned up every day before the crew left: no discarded containers or lunchbags or debris was ever seen. <br /> --In addition to doing the work agreed upon, Troy even did some additional pruning. <br /> --Troy is justifiably proud of creating projects that look great, and takes the time and care to look at the whole picture. <br /> We give this company our highest recommendation: they are knowledgeable, careful, and take pride in their work. <br /> <br /> <br />"
