"Amazing system! Did a lot of research on alarm systems....so glad I went with 1st security! They came to my house and explained everything to me, were not pushy at all. Came and installed the system a few days later....took the time to explain everything to me and did an amazing job with the installation. And the price is excellent, both the installation fee and the month to month. So happy with my decision."

"THEY ARE OUTSTANDING!  Alex, the team leader, was well-spoken and responsive to additional requests like repairing a broken window frame which had been broken for months.  He also replaced the weather stripping on the back door.  He kept us apprised of each step of the process over the week.  Albert helped select the perfect color for the front door and picked it up that day.  They guarantee their work and will pressure wash yearly for 5 years, and will come back to make any "fixes" as well and at no cost.  To maintain the stain on our deck, they will re stain in 3 years or sooner, as needed, with no labor charge.  They use the highest quality paints (Mad Dog primer and SW Duration on our house).  Furthermore, they were the LEAST EXPENSIVE of the three Angie's List bids I received."

"It was great!!! I bought the service and was contacted less than 2 hours later. Jeff was able to schedule me the same day (ahead of the incoming storm). He was professional, courteous and on time. He did the check, spotted a minor problem- a nail hole in the roof. He sealed the spot and gave my roof a clean bill of health and me peace of mind. He did not try to "manufacture problems" or up sell me on something else. I would high recommend Mighty Hands Roofing."

"We visited the showroom, picked out the quartz, confirmed the price. A representative visited our home to take detailed measurements. I provided my own sinks and he took one, so the cut out would be the correct size. Within 2 weeks a team came to the house to remove old countertops and install the new ones. Team was very efficient, put pads down to protect floors, careful in removing old countertops, installed new countertops and sinks, and cleaned up. Fireplace & Granite provided the best price of all the dealers we visited. Great company to work with."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"Tim's four-man team led by supervisor and extremely diligent worker, Ronnie, installed the system in approximately seven days.  Any other company most likely would have taken three times that.  I have rarely seen men work so hard and so competently.  Each night I was able to observe their progress and I was always extremely impressed.  Ronnie and his team were a delight.  They were great workers and great people;  my wife and I enjoyed having them in our home.  Everything was done as advertised and as promised.  The team cleaned up every night and protected our property as if it were their own.  Ronnie answered all my questions and went the extra mile to make us happy.  As an example, I asked for a center surface drain and a drain for a dehumidifier and the team did that and added two additional drains.  Essentially, this company wants to say "yes" when other companies would most likely want to say "no."

My wife and I bought this home two years ago and were very disappointed  when we discovered the water problem.  However, now that AccuDry has done their work,  my wife and I rest assured that the problem has been solved and solved very well.  We feel confident that we can use the basement without fear of any future water damage.  That's a great feeling  to have.  Thanks, Tim, Ronnie, and company!

"We bought a Angies Big Deal for 1 room interior paint for $99. The owner came out to see the job and estimate other work if needed. We chose to add baseboards and ceiling to our job. The $99 price covered walls only, paint included you choose color & finish.
Charlie arrived on time the day of service, picked up paint swatch and went to store. He came back within an hour, started on the ceiling, then walls and finished with the baseboards. He moved fridge and stove to paint behind, no extra charge.
The job was finished by mid afternoon, and to my liking. I would certainly use this contractor again.

"Started out ok, but contractor had not started on job the week I was away (he had stated he would get started on outside work that did not require doors to be removed).  Work of replacing doors was done all right, but the board nailed up in back of house
under windows was not what was detailed in work order (was supposed to use PVC).  Repair work at soffits was not painted,
and when Sam returned for his money he put paint by front door and slopped on front mat and patio.  Did not clean up.  Did not
complete work on work order (new outdoor sills for upstairs dormer windows, and new sweeps for double front doors).  After the 1st few days, neither Sam or the man working for him ever showed up at the promised time;  one day after being very hot, Sam
stated they would be there the next morning at 6:30 a.m.  His worker showed up at 11:00 with the excuse he didn't know how to set his wife's alarm clock;  Sam showed up about noon.  Later when I was looking for him, he was asleep in his truck.  During all
this,  standing water and mold was discovered in the finished basement where they were installing new doors.  Sam called someone he knew to come out to look at the situation, which he told me he was going to do and I approved.  However, he later
called someone else to come and "remediate" the mold and put up a barrier to the upstairs.  This I did not approve.  By this time the insurance carrier had been notified,  a tester was contacted and came out, Servpro came out, put up more barriers, put in
several dehumidifiers and scrubbers.  When they all came together, Sam did come supposedly for my protection.  However, he
spent most of the discussion time on his cell phone.  When he presented me with his bill, I told him he would need to deduct
money for the work not done.  He stated that $50.00 should cover it.  I deducted $120.00, which still too little.  However, he
then presented my with bills on his invoices from the two men he had come out.  I was told verbally the prior day that the first man
had billed $90.00 for his services, but Sam's invoice was for $125.00.  I was also told that the second man who came out (not
approved by me) billed $120.00 for his services;  Sam's invoice was for $175.00 and $350.00 for Sam's time meeting with
insurance, etc.  These charges are outrageous and the fact that Sam apparently bumped them up even more is a total rip-off.
I paid the bills in full, because I wanted Sam out of my house.  I would never use him again.

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Chester, SC

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
