"After being thorough getting estimates, I hired Forest Park Stucco to do some stucco repairs on my home, and the work they did exceeded my expectations. I'm fussy and dread dealing with contractors, but Joe was kind, caring, extremely professional and followed through on his word. His workers are true craftsman - my house's stucco pattern is unique and they matched it perfectly. If you need quality stucco work done, I strongly recommend you contact "The Stucco Man" - Joe Zerbinski… He's the very best!!"

"Excellent painting of walls and repair of cracks in ceiling and one water damaged wall. Crew Georg and Toto very considerate and cleaned up after themselves. Very efficient. Some difficulty/misunderstanding about work to be done, but the owner made it right. I appreciate that very much. Thank you Castino!"

"Job was done fairly well. There were some large paint drips/roller marks on the walls in one of the bedrooms that are definitely noticeable unfortunately, and there were several dried paint drops on the carpet/baseboard that won't come out. At the suggestion of the painter we added on some repair/painting of the ceiling (the tape was peeling around some of the corners). The add-on work was a bit pricey, but this was offset by the original deal purchased on AL which was very inexpensive.
Overall it was still a positive experience. Our painter was on time, polite, and honest. I would probably reach out to RRP again if I need painting done in the future.

"Hector and his crew were very professional from the first moment we spoke on the phone. He is a listener first type of person who wants to make sure he understands your desires. The wife and I never felt like our concepts were in Jeopardy of being changed or manipulated. They were on time everyday and worked from beginning to end of the workday. The job was finished in the agreed upon time and the work was of the highest quality. Our home looks like it did when we first purchased it. We are so happy. If you want quality at a great price, hire Hector and his crew. You will not be disappointed But wait until I'm finished with him. I have another project he will be starting shortly. This company is a keeper on is on my shortlist whenever I need any painting or deck restoration completed. Thank you Hector and crew. You are amazing."

"I have a small crack in my hybrid stucco.  I was nervous about it so I
called Aspire.  Peter came out that same day and rather than making up
some work for himself, he said not to worry about it, "don't waste time
or money." I thought that was so honorable of him.  I really appreciated
that honesty.  I would definitely have him back out to do work because I
really trust him.

"I contacted Carrington Roofing regarding a roof repair job that I noticed during a torrential downpour this past week.  Tristen from Carrington called me scheduled a estimate for the next day.  He was on time for the appointment which is always appreciated.  As I was explaining the issue for him he immediately knew that problem by just looking at the sides of the flat roof.  The previous roofer used the wrong flashing for the type of roof I need, (Flat roof for a dormer addition).  He mentioned that they would be able to install the new flashing and check for any additional repairs while installing the flashing.  2 days later his guys came out and were very professional and efficient. They explained to me the issues and showed me the new materials they would be installing so that i could see the differences.  They also repaired some minor tears along my vents and chimney at no additional costs.  I feel they were very professional and the price was very fair compared to other companies.  I would definitley recommend their services to anyone needing a roofing job in the future."

"We had estimates from 3 companies, one was much more expensive, the other didn't have good reviews but was similarly priced, we then asked George for addresses of his work.  We went to 4 or 5 homes and they all had nice things to say.  This was the largest renovation and investment we have made in our home--and we had to take out a home equity loan to do it, so we were a still a little nervous--concrete is so permanent.
We put $1,000 down and George and his men got to work the next week.  It all happened very quickly.  They jackhammered through our front steps the first day (we have a basement closet under those steps so they had to build forms to keep that room) and removed all the other walkways as well.  A neighbor said their window cracked from the vibrations, I wasn't home at the time, but George was calm and had their window fixed.
George was on-site often and when they were pouring he was actively helping and there all day.
The final product is terrific--better than we imagined--from the color to the smooth squares with the brushed look in t
he middle.  It's thicker than we pictured because he leveled it out from the street all the way out to the alley, it looks really nice.  A bit of concrete splashed onto the house and George had a guy power-wash it the next day, but then when he poured the alley parking area (2 large spaces) I taped drop cloths on our fence in case any splashed.  George removed the tape and drop cloths when they were finished and cleaned everything up nicely.  He also used the dirt they had dug up when widening the pathways to back fill where they had the boards/forms.  We really appreciated that for seeding.
So overall, great results for a fair price.

5/14  We had some cracks over the winter and George and his crew returned last month to sledge out those pieces and re-pour with more expansion joints.  We were very pleased he stood by his work."

"I found You've Got a Guy on Angie's list.  I selected You've Got a Guy for the job based on their ability to cover the entire scope of work, professionalism,  and price.

Matt arrived promptly for the estimate, and send a detailed estimate right away.  Matt and Tom came to my house the week before work began.  They walked around with me to make sure all of the details and instructions were complete.  They told me exactly what to expect and gave me some hints and tips for things that I could do to make the job more efficient.  Their information was accurate, and their tips helped our family be ready for and relaxed throughout the entire project.

Matt helped me to choose the interior paint colors.  I was hesitant about a couple of the colors at first, but I love them.  They turned out to be the perfect combination of modern, urban colors and a 100 year old house with many original features and woodwork.

Tom saved my kitchen cabinets.  Over the years they had lost much of their finish and stain.  I had decided to paint them, but with my permission, he took a drawer face and blended a stain to match. I was very pleased that I would not have to paint beautiful wood cabinets.  When he finished sanding, staining and applying polyurethane, the cabinets look new.  No one can tell where they used to be a mess.  He also repaired and stained the original french doors in the living room.  They look terrific, and I am glad I decided against removing them.

Before the exterior could be painted, the stucco needed to be repaired in a few places.  Once the house was painted, the repairs do not show.  I now have complete exterior walls without cracks and holes.

In the course of the work done by You've Got a Guy, the crew found a couple of problems with my house unrelated to the original scope of work.  They brought these problems to my attention.  They had good suggestions and quality solutions to recommend.  For example, my cinder block porch had been caulked rather than tuck-pointed by a previous owner, and the blocks were not stable.  You've Got a Guy tuck-pointed my porch, and it looks great.  As a bonus, all of the windows on the porch now open properly.

Based on their competence and professionalism, I decided to also hire You've Got a Guy for the long list of handyman work I planned to do after the painting was finished.  For each of these additional jobs, Matt provided me with a written estimate, although in some cases they just fixed minor details during the course of their painting work.  Each of these tasks was handled quickly and done well.  As an example, they were able to repair the 5 drawers on my 100 year old built in hutch so that the drawers now glide properly and sit correctly on the slides.

I expected more damage to my extensive plantings, and was pleased at how little damage they did.  The clean up job after the painting was through.  We are pleased with how the house looks.  Several neighbors have commented on how nice it looks, and at least one hired You've Got a Guy based on their work on my house.

The crew arrived promptly each day.  If they were going to be picking up supplies and arriving later than expected, they always let me know.  The crew was professional and courteous throughout the project.  Over two weeks, I overheard several conversations.  At no time was I concerned with what my teenagers or kindergarten neighbors might overhear.  It was an overall pleasant experience.

In sum, it was a professional job by a professional crew.  Matt's estimates for You've Got a Guy were accurate and detailed.  My questions were answered promptly and completely.  I will hire them again."

FAQs for traditional stucco repair or partially replace projects in Chicago Heights, IL

Minor stucco fixes—like sealing small cracks or adding fresh caulk—often wrap up in an hour or two. Larger jobs that call for cutting out damaged sections, installing new lath, and layering fresh stucco can stretch to three or four days because each coat needs time to cure. A pro removes loose material, cleans and dampens the area, applies a bonding agent, and builds up new layers, matching texture and restoring the wall’s weather shield.

Watch for a stucco surface that stays damp days after a storm, develops dark stains, or feels soft or spongy under light pressure. Inside, moisture rings, peeling paint, or soft drywall around windows point to the same issue. Any of these red flags mean water is trapped behind the siding, and it’s time to call a stucco pro before rot or mold sets in.

Give your stucco a once-over every spring and fall. Semiannual checks let you catch hairline cracks, stains, or damp spots before they snowball into pricey repairs. Keep a flashlight handy, look closely around windows and doors, and call a pro if you notice anything soft or discolored. Staying ahead of minor issues protects both your curb appeal and your home’s weather barrier.

A pro starts by scraping away loose material, then cleans and lightly wets the area so new stucco will stick. After brushing on a bonding agent, they build fresh layers, letting each coat cure before adding the next. The final step is matching the texture and color so the patch blends in and the wall regains full weather protection.

Think of repair as a patch: the pro fixes only the visible crack or hole. Remediation goes deeper—crews strip away the compromised stucco, correct the root problem (often water or mold), then rebuild the wall. If tests show structural rot or trapped moisture, remediation is the safer, longer-lasting route; otherwise, a straightforward repair often does the trick.
