"Having compared two different central vacuum service companies Just Central Vacuums of Forest Park IL is who I chose. Just Central is one of the authorized dealers for MD Central Vacuum manufacturing and is an "Elite Dealer" for MD Central Vacuum. Owen Perkins in the owner/service technician of Just Central. Owen had given me a two-hour window of 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and called at about 1:40 pm asking if he could be there by 2:00 pm and maybe a little sooner. I told him awesome as I was looking forward to having the work done. Owen arrived and quickly got to work initially with me showing Owen where all the inlets where and off to get things done he went. Owen even made an adjustment to the inlet in our upstairs hallway to work around the wainscoting that one of the inlets was built into. Before I knew it the work was complete. Owen then showed me the vacuum bags which I already had and explained to me how the bags go into the unit itself. It was something I did not realize that was part of our system and grateful to learn of it. Owen also noticed that our hardwood floor attachments where on their final legs and advised about replacing them soon. Owen actually decided to give me one new hardwood floor attachment which was a great customer service goodwill gesture and I decided to buy the 2nd one from Owen at that point. Overall I am very happy with the service that Owen provided for my system and definitely will keep his card handy in case we need something else for the system. I do highly recommend Just Central Vacuums."

"When I called from his websight,Mr.Condic responded in a very professional manner. He asked me questions and let me know my options even before coming out to my place. The service call came within 24 hrs from initial phone conversation.Whan he came out to my place he was very familiar with the system that I had and knew exactly what to do to get it up and running. <br /> With the canister and power unit in my garage and the piping running underground,I was explained that from the weather and temperature changes, condensation would cause the system to clog up. <br /> Problem was solved by rerouting the piping leading from the garage and insulating it from the weather and temperature changes. <br />"

"Love love love our Beam, I couldn't live without it.  I think he did a good job installing it, looks great, runs wonderful.  I still have a credit for one more outlet since we didn't use as many as we had estimated over the phone.  Overall, they do a good job, but  I wish he didn't put the canister so close to the side wall in the garage, I told him we needed to finish drywalling it and to put the canister toward the front of the wall, but not that close, so he didn't give us much space to work with.   I was also a bit disappointed in his lack of cleaning up.  If you install a vacuum, use it.  We've had these installed in the past at other houses, and the companies always vacuumed up after they drilled the holes in the walls.  That was a let down.  Also, he didn't put the fire stop in between the wall to the garage, which in St. Louis is code - for a reason. I guess it isn't code here?  I asked him to install it and he said he didn't need to .  My husband wished I pushed it a little further.   So, I say B overall due to our minor technical details...love the Beam, nobody can beat that... I just think there is a lack of attention to detail here."

FAQs for central vacuum repair or service projects in Chicago, IL

Central vacuum systems are a smart investment for homeowners, offering powerful cleaning performance and reducing noise levels in your home. They efficiently remove dust and dirt, lowering your daily maintenance chores. Plus, a professionally installed system can increase your home's value to interested buyers and make cleaning tasks simpler. Regular upkeep extends its life and functionality.

When choosing between cyclonic and filter central vacuum systems, opt for cyclonic units if ease of maintenance and simplified operation are critical, especially in secondary residences. For households with asthma, respiratory issues, or multiple pets, filter systems are recommended because they allow the integration of HEPA-certified bags and filters to ensure superior air quality and effective dust capture.

A central vacuum system lasts at least 10 years and can remain operational for up to 30 years with proper care. Regular professional maintenance, consistent filter replacements, and thorough cleaning of the in-wall piping ensure continued performance all year round. Consistent servicing by accredited professionals addresses minor issues, safeguards its operational integrity, and maximizes your investment.

The decision to repair or replace your central vacuum system depends on comparing repair expenses with new installation costs. Repair costs remain significantly lower than the expense of installing a new system. It is most cost-effective to restore functionality through professional repairs, except when critical components such as the motor or major electrical parts fail, which could justify replacement. If your central vacuum is over 10 years old and requires frequent repairs, it may be time to invest in a new system, too.

You can tell your central vacuum is clogged if you experience reduced suction and poor cleaning performance. Begin by checking the hose for a lack of suction and test each outlet systematically to locate any blockage. Consistent low suction indicates a clog within the system, and immediate inspection and remediation are required to restore reliable cleaning performance.
