"Wow! Unbelievable! If we ever have a water problem again, Pioneer will be the only waterproofing company that we call. We were getting some water in our basement which has a stack-stone foundation and radiant floor heating. We interviewed three companies and were particularly concerned about a solution that would stop the water without compromising the radiant tubes that were in the floor. Initially, Pioneer recommended a baseboard system that would run along the outside of the wall. Upon inspection, Mike Oliveira discussed a traditional drain to sump pump solution. We reiterated our concern about puncturing a tube in the floor and Mike assured us that he and his team would hand chisel potential problem areas to avoid the tubing. Moreover, this solution would save us roughly $2K and give us a lifetime guarantee vs. a 25 year guarantee on the baseboard system. The team showed up on time, cleared a 50' span of concrete by Noon, uncovered two sections of radiant tubing without puncturing the line, installed the moisture barrier, sump pump and new concrete by 4 p.m. They had to drill through a hefty header board to connect the pump line to an existing drainage line that carries water away from home and that was completed by 5:30 p.m. Mike came back in a week and we tested the fix using free-flow from our sprinkler system -- it worked perfectly. Subsequently we've had some consistent spring rain and absolutely no water in the basement. "My wife and I bought a fixer upper house with awful textured plaster ceilings throughout. We called Francis and he said he could smooth it out no problem. He is very knowledgeable and presented us with different options every step of the way. Him and his crew plastered over every inch of ceiling in our 2,000 SF house as well as a few walls that needed to be touched up. There were some sections of wall and ceiling that were damaged by water and he was able to cut them right out, replace and replaster like it never happened. He is prompt, clean and clearly skilled at his craft. The attention to detail in every room, including the inset skylights and high ceilings in the stairwell, truly transformed the look of the entire house. Throughout the project I had a number of other projects going on in the house as well. We had a few large, deep cracks in the foundation which we had scheduled a specialty company to come out and fix. Francis checked on the cracks and walked us through the repairs. He was able to grind out the cracks, seal it inside and out, and fill it with an epoxy resin that hardens stronger than the foundation itself. He was able to do this at half the price and it came out looking brand new. My wife and I also brought up the idea of tearing up the worn out linoleum floor in the bathroom and update it with some new tile. Francis meticulously laid the intricate patterned tile, set the grout and caulked around all the edges. Like the ceilings, the tile floor transformed the bathroom in to a new space. Overall Francis is knowledgeable, professional and easy to work with. He was able to do the big jobs we needed done as well as a lot of the odds and ends that we wanted done right. Not only was he able to do the work, but he had many suggestions along the way to make the finished product look just right. "I cannot speak highly enough of Tom and Brad Green of Colonial Restorations. We have lived in our antique house for 16 years now, and like most old homes, some of its previous repairs were good, some not so good. Tom Green worked on this house for its previous owners, and his work was, by far, the best in the house. So, we continued to use Colonial - Tom, then Tom and Brad - as we learned the ropes about caring for an old house - our first house, old or new. Over the years, they have replaced sills and posts and beams, and rebuilt parts of our loose stone foundation. Most recently, they replaced the last original posts in our basement, (one of which was a tree trunk still with bark on it), including pouring new custom footings, in advance of our finally cementing the dirt floor. "My experience with Real Dry was exceptional throughout the whole process. Last year, we were getting water in our basement whenever there was a heavy rain. Steve came and assessed the situation, and recommended digging wells around our basement windows and door and filling them with gravel for better drainage straight down (rather than toward the house/windows). We initially talked about also digging a well in the front of the house, where water would pool due to our lack of gutters and then come in through the foundation. So the initial estimate included all of that. When Steve arrived on the actual day with his crew, I told him that I didn't think we needed to have a well in the front of the house because I was planning on getting gutters and that should take care of that.
