"They did a good job. They were prompt and everything. Their gentleman came out and did the carpet. So it actually turned out better. They were very professional and knew what they were doing. I had one instance with them which they weren't doing it right and I pointed it out to them and they took care of it right away. There was a lot of paperwork that I had to go through them. Their pricing is good."

"<p>De Hart Tile is a great place with which to do business.  Everyone we worked with, from salesperson to installer, was very nice, and professional.  De Hart had a wider selection of samples than the other place we had quote the job.  Both companies had very similar quotes; we chose De Hart because we found patterns we really liked there.  Once the order was placed, it took about 2 weeks for the material to come in, but once it came in, they had it installed within the next week.  The installer, Allen, does an excellent job!  He is very easy to work with; when I told him I didn't like the color of the caulk around the bathtub, he came back the next day with a color I liked much better! </p> <p><br /></p> <p>I highly recommend De Hart Tile!</p> <br />"

"Ronnie listened closely to our concerns and desires for wall to wall carpeting, asked us some very good questions about pets, etc. We were impressed that he didn't try to and quot;pushand quot; a particular brand, but let us feel as many samples as we wanted (large samples, not those tiny things you find in the big box stores) and stand on the various grades of padding. He didn't try to rush us, but gave us lots of time. We gave him a copy of the scale drawing we had made of the house, which helped him give us the total price; of course he came to the house to confirm our measurements. During his visit he offered some suggestions about whether to carpet our hall (we have beautiful hardwood floors all over the house) and how it would look if we removed the carpeting in the future. We thought it interesting that he, a carpet salesman, suggested that we not carpet the hall - speaks well for his professionalism. <br /> His installers arrived when they were supposed to, did an excellent installation, cleaned up after themselves and took all their debris. The installation was superb and we're extremely pleased with the result. <br /> We are so pleased in fact, that we're going to have his folks install carpeting in the basement family room. <br />"

"The subcontractors were great and did a great job. They called during the install to clarify any issues or concerns, and they called afterward to see if I thought there were any problems. <br /> I love the floor but I didn't like the transitions though they were the ones the manufacturer sells to go with my floor. They are not quite the same color as the flooring as they are laminate and the floor is wood. I will have them replaced with wood ones, so Floored agreed to take the transitions off my bill. Thus, I will shop at Floored again. <br />"

"I had carpet installed by Carpetland (separate review) and my precious little pup almost immediately dug up a couple seams and corners. <br /> I called David to see if he could do the repairs. On the phone he listened to my issue and made a good faith estimate based on the conversation. He was very accommodating in trying to schedule the repairs and was able to fit it in within the week. He called and confirmed the time the day before and again just before arriving.   <br /> David and Matt were very pleasant and professional on arrival, going above and beyond, understanding about my rambunctious puppies. They were able to assess the situation and start work quickly. They did an excellent job, it looks great. The area was cleaner when they were done than when they started. His phone estimate was spot on and a very good deal. <br /> I would most definitely recommend Trinity Flooring for your flooring needs. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Christiansburg, VA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
