"Excellent staff negotiation (price and schedule), coordinated delivery, installers on time, professional and efficient. Excellent installation. New house 2 room carpet install, sample board home loan allowed us to make comparisons on color and texture. Negotiated price, met delivery schedule, arrived on-time, installers site cleared laminate flooring and pad, installed new pad and stretched new carpet in 2 rooms all within 5 hours. Would definitely use again. Thanks Eric and staff!!"

"These guys were great. The team came in and removed all the old carpet, re-installed the new padding and carpet, trimmed everything as requested, reinstalled all the doors and hardware. No mess no fuss. Took about 2 hours. I will ask them back soon for the upstairs carpeting. Courteous, generous, and helpful. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"The owner of Handyman Unlimited is a charming and charismatic guy.  He has good ideas and seems genuinely interested in doing an excellent job.  We had used Handyman Unlimited for a laundry list of household repairs on our 70 year old home, and the worker who was sent, Walter, was a great problem-solver and technician.  So, we didn't hesitate when the proposal for the bathroom remodel was presented.  Great workers, good follow-through and beautiful design ideas.  What could go wrong? <br /> Well, the company is stretched so thin that the promise that scheduling would be continuous and the entire job would take 2-3 weeks was not possible.  We had days when there were workers tripping over each other and days when somebody showed up unannounced and then couldn't do the work that he was scheduled to do.  We had problems with materials; we went to the vendors where the owner sent us to pick out fixtures and tile and then he didn't place the orders until the demo was started, only to find out that there were delays on the floor tile, delays on the faucet set.  The electrician picked up the materials, dropped them off without checking the cartons and when he came back to do the installation, there were parts wrong or missing. <br /> Some of the tradesmen were brilliant: Robert, who does dry wall, Moses, who does tile work -- so skilled, so caring, really great to have them in the house. <br /> Some -- not so much.  The painting subcontractor sent a team of painters who were obviously being paid by the hour, not the job. They were also obviously being charged for materials; they didn't want to lay plastic down to cover the stairs and there was a lot of screaming on a cellphone about, I think, quantity of paint.  They spent over 9 hours painting a bathroom area that should have taken much less time. <br /> The plumber was in completely over his head.  The house was 70 years old when Tom came and bid the job and it was 70 years old when the plumber showed up.  The plumbing was 70 years old.  Still is. And yet the plumber didn't seem to be able to solve any of the problems that came up.  He installed the new whirlpool tub, filled it with water and then discovered that the drain was blocked. He bailed the tub out and left.  We never saw him again.  Good thing we had a really competent plumber who has worked in this house for years;  he came over and solved the problem.  I would never have believed that Handyman Unlimited was responsible for the charges to clear that drain no matter who cleared it.  But to just leave with the problem unresolved and then to not hear from the company first thing the next morning was inappropriate. <br /> Like I said, the owner is charming and charismatic.  However, until he finds more tradesmen, and better plumbers to send to your remodel job, I would look for somebody else. <br /> Having said all that, the bathroom is GORGEOUS!   <br /> The 2-3 week job took 8 1/2 weeks.  Don't know if that would be considered normal for a remodel, but we didn't move walls, we just put in a new tub and new tile.  Maybe it was so disruptive because this is the en suite bathroom in our master bedroom, so the construction zone was our bedroom. <br />"

"We hired Advance Solutions to remodel our dated kitchen, flooring and our master bath which looks like it got stuck in a time warp of the mid 80's. Advance Solutions came in and remodeled our kitchen and brought it back to life and present day!! We now have a top of the line gourmet kitchen, Beautiful Antique White cabinetry with lighting, plenty of storage and space, Granite Counter tops and an island with more than enough prep space which my wife loves!! Beautiful stainless steel appliances 6 burner viking range, dish washer, fridge and built-in wine cellar (All Pre-Bought by my wife and I and installed by Advance Solution) hardwood floors through out which gives it a master designers touch that is a show stopper as soon as you step into the room. Our master bath was a true task, from the ugly wall paper to the dated tile flooring that had been there since the house was built, to the jacuzzi tub incased with the same dated tile (Talk about a disaster!) Once again Advance Solutions ripped out all that dated stuff and we now have a bath room that could in my opinion rival any 5 star spa, Dual vanity with knee space topped off with quartz counter tops and under mounted sinks, updated tile flooring, 42in X 72in soaking tub with separate walk-in shower with steam seating, multi angel shower sprays including over head rain spout. We couldn't be more pleased with the work Advance Solutions provided for us we now have a home that we can see ourselves in for years to come. Thank you Advance Solutions for giving us the home of our dreams!!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Cima, CA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
