"I contacted this company via a web search because my garage door wouldn't open due to broken springs. The company was called "Columbus' Choice Overhead Garage Door Co." on the website, but listed as "Fox Overhead Garage Doors LLC" on my invoice. I explained my problem and described my door to the phone representative and scheduled the appointment. He quoted me a price of about $180.

The service tech came out and provided an estimate of around $700 and then settled on $568 after applying various "coupons." He said the price was higher because my garage door was heavy. While he was gathering his equipment for the installation, I did a search on Angie's List and learned that a more reasonable price for the spring installation was $200-250. I explained this to the technician and told him that I wanted to cancel the job, so he asked me how much would I be willing to pay, So I said $300 (which was still too much, but since he was already there and I couldn't get  my cars out of the garage I went on the high side). He did the work, but swapped out the original springs that he showed me with a smaller set because he said that he miscounted the coils first time.

Fast forward to today, my garage door barely opens (stops every few inches) with the opener and it will not open at all manually. This is indicative of a spring issue. I actually have had the stopping issue for at least a week, but it has gotten worse the past few days. I called the company - 39 days from original date of service - to make them aware of the issue. I was beyond the 30 day labor warranty, so I scheduled a service call with a different garage door service company.
