"A1 was here the very next morning after I returned to fix the furnace. They arrived with all the necessary parts, diagnosed the problem and it was up and running within 30 minutes. "I would heartily recommend Roos H&R Painting. Mike and Penny Roos work hard and aim to please. When I first met them to introduce them to the job and get a bid, they indicated that they love painting and restoring old houses. Their work reflects that love. They are honest, dependable, responsible, and easy to work with. When asked to make a few changes, they graciously agreed. 
Soon after we met, they emailed me a contract. We met again to confirm colors. There was a delay because of the spring weather, but once the rain cleared, they power washed the house, and then got started the next week and didn't stop until the job was complete. There was quite a bit of scraping, caulking, and even replacing of some shingles. They brushed on the stain for the best and longest lasting result. Despite all the work, they completed the job in about 8 days and the result is fantastic. 
Their crew seemed equally careful, polite, and hardworking. Despite all the activity and workers on the property, they cleaned up every night, even shop vacuuming all the paint chips from the ground and porch roofs when they were done.

"This was an experiment for me in use of an interior designer online.  THe consultant was helpful in directing me to useful websites to review products and encouraged me to look widely and that was useful. Otherwise I found it difficult to use her services. The online aspect is one reason - looking at colors, e.g. wall colors and considering them for a particular space is difficult to do given than monitors and lighting change the look of things. Also, one cannot get the sense of e dimensional space from 2 dimensional tools
 In addition,  she was only allowed to advise me on one room and I have an open space that includes living, dining and kitchen areas, all of which had to be considered together. It was frustrating that she was not allowed to think about the other spaces when I had to think about all of them together.
The designer pushed me to choose a rug before choosing living room furniture but I preferred to choose the furniture first as it is more difficult to replace.  She was not able to be flexible on this account. Also, when I did not seem interested in buying through their service she seemed to loose interest.
It often took several days for the consultant to get back to me. That is the area where I most fault the individual as opposed to the set up of online consulting. 
In the end, I made my own choices and am happy with them. The experience gave me more confidence in my own instincts.
