"We had Bryan Pikaard and his assistant Eddie out to our place today in Hopkinsville. I can not say enough about the service and expertise they provided. They installed 6 Fan Lights and 1 Chandelier in our home. Our home is a menagerie of rooms 3800 sq. feet with lots of remodeling done in the past years. Our wiring was a mess, and they had to go in the attic and pull new wire to make it all work properly. We also had an issue with the lights in our barn due to a burnt wire and a few bad GFI plugs. They were a pleasure to have in my home and completed the work in one day. The service is impeccable, they even vacuumed up all the debris, amazing! I will be calling them back to change out all our recessed lights next. I am extremely happy with everything about the service. We struck gold, when we called Travis Electrical. Bryan, well he deserves a RAISE !!"

"Lawrence did an outstanding job from start to finish. He installed a dedicated electrical circuit for our new mini-split in my kids’ room, repaired and organized several electrical wiring issues around the house, and installed an exterior fan—all with exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. He took the time to explain everything, kept the work area clean, and made sure every detail was done right. His professionalism, reliability, and pride in his work really stood out. If you’re looking for an honest, knowledgeable electrician who genuinely cares about quality, I highly recommend Lawrence. I’ll definitely be calling him again for future electrical projects!"

"We were very pleased with the work Apollo Electric did for us. John Beazley was knowledgable, prompt, and courteous. He replaced the main kitchen light, three other ceiling lights, set up and installed a cove heater in a bathroom, and installed a new electric plug in the family room. The price for all this work was very reasonable. His work was professional and excellent."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Clarksville, TN

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
