"I found Sparkle because of excellent reviews on Angie's List. The reviews did not lead me astray. I had a Danish teak chair from the 1960s that needed cushions. I had found some great vintage upholstery fabric from the era at a specialty store and Sparkle was happy to use that rather than selling me their own fabric. left the chair and fabric with them--they said my job would be complete in two weeks. The chair was ready a day early and I was very pleased with the result. They were careful to replicate vintage details, including the piping on both sides so the cushions can be flipped. The quality is excellent. I had some trouble getting the chair in my car, and the gentleman helping me load it was incredibly helpful. They are very pleasant folks to work with and I understand why their reviews are so good. Upholstering is expensive no matter where you go, but at least with Sparkle, you get what you pay for."

"We have 8 teak dining room chairs from the 1980s that were in desperate need of reupholstery. 2 with arms, 6 armless. Seats & backs. I saw an advertisement for $30 per item for labor deal, if you bring in your furniture. I called around a few other places, saw the reviews on Angie's list. This was well worth the nearly one hour drive there and a 2nd back in traffic, twice: once to drop off and a second to pick up my order. Not hard to find the store if you pay attention to the address numbers. Don't expect luxurious surroundings; it is in a nondescript little strip mall. Once there, you'll find an extensive selection of fabric rolls in the cluttered showroom. The owners were very nice, attentive, and not in the least bit pushy. The project would have been finished in less than a week had I chosen something in house. There was a strong contender which would have been less expensive than the one I wound up selecting. However, I became obsessed with a sample that was a little more substantial and which had to be ordered. That added a week to the due date, which was fine. The owner, CeCe, was very kind-- suggested if I wanted to save money, I could buy the stain-resister spray myself. I opted to have her company do this so I wouldn't have to deal with the mess, the smell, and the potential of procrastination. As it is, the assembled chairs look wonderful, but I still have 2 left to complete. When you opt to save money by reassembling chairs yourself, you risk not getting around to completing the task. There are the pesky little details you have to fuss over (or not), like staining the little wooden plugs that need to be glued  in over the screws that hold everything in place. <br />"

"King Upholstery had previously made slipcovers for my club chairs, and covered the seats for my dining-room chairs, so I knew I would have exemplary service for the sofa. But Kathy outdid herself giving me personal service for the sofa. After I had selected the fabric to be used, and placed the order, she telephoned the next day to point out that the fabric was not washable, so would be unsuitable for a slipcover. Upholstery was not much more expensive, so I opted for that. About ten days later, the sofa was picked up from my home, and a little over two weeks later, returned beautifully upholstered. I couldn't be happier."

"Metro Leather Furniture Restoration sent two repairmen?Eddie and Christian-- to our home to repair a sofa and chair. To paraphrase a line from the movie ?Jerry McGuire? they had us at hello. We?ve had a good amount of work done in our home over the last year so it was refreshing to have people arrive on time, pleasantly introduce themselves, and do everything possible to do the job right. When Mike came out to do our estimate about a month earlier we explained that we wanted to have the sofa and chair repaired only if the pieces could be relocated to the rec room. Within minutes of arriving at our home, Eddie and Christian carefully moved our 96-inch sofa to our downstairs rec room, without damaging anything in our home. The 13-year old furniture suffered from a broken frame and loose webbing and the chair needed rewebbing as well. After each piece was repaired and reassembled we were encouraged to try the pieces to see if the improvements matched our expectations. My husband asked to have foam added to the back of each piece to increase lumbar support and the repairmen accommodated his request. Overall, we are pleased with the result. While the estimate Mike provided was fairly accurate we wish that the repairmen had arrived with the materials needed to provide extra cushioning to the seats because more than rewebbing was needed for comfort. However, we will schedule that work for later. I would use Metro Leather Furniture Restoration again and I would recommend them to others."

"I called Tom Dunphy and told him I was interested in having my wing chair & ottoman slipcovered. He  advised me that he had recently relocated to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, which is a quite a distance from Germantown, in north west Montgomery county where I lived, yet did not refuse the job. <br />   He quoted a price of $250 for the chair and $125 for the ottoman, not including the cost of fabric, which I needed to purchase ,there would also be a  surcharge of $100, because of the distance.  <br />  Tom said once I had purchased my fabric, to call him , and make an appointment for him to come to my home,  where he would cut and pin the fabric to the chair & ottoman.  I was also given a list of online fabric company's that sold designer fabric at discounted prices. I was instructed to purchase 12 yards of fabric, I found a great fabric, and was able to purchase a bolt of 14 yds for $65.00. <br />     Tom came out to my home approx 2 weeks later, and cut and pinned the fabric to the chair & ottoman.  Today, about 4 weeks later he returned with the finished slipcovers, and installed the covers on the chair & ottoman. They look great, just what I wanted. <br />      This whole process was so simple, no stress nor strain.  Tom is very friendly, and knows his business.  I will not only use Tom Dunphy again, but I recommend  to all others not to use places where you must take endless pictures, draw outlines of your pieces and also give endless measurements hoping they understand.  Also why hassle trying to fit your furniture in the car, and wonder when you will get them back.  This is the only way to have this done, and at a great price, and without any worry. <br />"
