"They did a very good job.  The front walkway sloped toward the house and they were able to raise it up.  The pool deck was much harder and they did the best the could, but the dirt under it continued to settle.  I was happy with their work and the cost was much less than pouring new concrete. <br /> I don't really remember the price. <br />"

"I am not going to use this company, but I would use them. He is very professional, very knowledgeable, probably had the greatest institutional knowledge of deck replacement of any of the four estimates I got."

"We were very satisfied with the work performed by Country Boy Excavating. We had previously hired 2 other contractors to complete the work we needed done, and we wasted our money. I wish we had found Country Boy Excavating first...it would have saved us a great deal of money. They were very knowledgeable, professional, and reliable. They have their own equipment which trust me makes a big difference! We explained what we wanted and they took it a step further giving us what we wanted and needed. The cost was extremely reasonable. We would recommend this company to our own family members, that's how pleased we are with them."

"Dillion and BJ are exceptional at what they do! They are friendly, courteous, professional and above all else, honest. My porch looks amazing. It was done quicker than I expected. I am a single mom so sometimes these things can be stressful when letting someone into your home but they were wonderful from the start. I will definitely be calling them for all my future projects."

"We had a unique project as someone hit our steel mailbox causing it to tilt and it broke the concrete slab that surrounded it. Finding someone to do such an odd job was a project in itself! Mr. Tucker graciously agreed to help us. He was very upfront about his timeframe but communicated with us every step of the way. He is very particular about his work and I'm very picky so he was the perfect person to do this job. It turned out great and I am so happy to have my mailbox upright again! Would definitely hire again!!"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Clinton, TN

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
