"When I decided to install  hardwood in my house, I contacted an independent contractor to do the job and provide the wood because I thought it would be more cost effective.   Was I ever wrong. <br />   Just before signing the contract, I decided to check out A&M Carpet.  I am so glad I did.  Sales associate Jose was so great about answering my questions and helping me select the right hardwood for my home.  The wood is absolutely beautiful and a better quality than what I had originally selected with the independent contractor.    Because of Jose's knowledge, he saved me from making a couple of big mistakes that I would have had to live with for a very long time.  <br />  The installers, Juan Saldina and his crew, installed the floors in the kitchen, living room, office, and two bedrooms.  They did an excellent job.  We could not move out while they were working so the crew had to work around two adults and one indoor cat and I have to say they were very accommaditing as well as professional.  They were great.  They always showed up on time and when I had a question for Juan, he always responded to my calls and he would do what he said he was going to do.    I can't say enough good things about these guys.  I'm very picky about work being done at my house and tend to get a bit stressed out.   I can honestly say they did an absolutely beautiful job.  I love my floors and everyone was great to work with. <br />"

"We recently hired Sterling Carpet Cleaning to clean the carpets in my parents' entire house in Clovis. The technician was prompt and professional. The carpets were pretty worn/soiled, and we were amazed at how good the carpet looked at the end. The technician took his time and did a very thorough job. And the price was really, really good. We plan to hire Sterling again!"

"Everything went fine with the purchase and installation of the carpet.  It is now 3 years later and the carpet is showing serious signs of wear.  Since this was for an apartment complex I own, I did not get the most expensive carpet, but did expect it to last 5 years or so.   <br /> The important information in this review is that Bob's New and Used Carpet is no longer in business.  They have closed and are no longer at the Blackstone Avenue address.  I was referred on the Internet to A&M Carpet on Bullard where I was told that they acquired Bob's a couple of years ago. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Clovis, CA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
