"I underwent a huge project with them to make my house ADA accessible & they did great! I really could trust them. They listened to my concerns, had great suggestions and were quick to respond. They were all very professional, worked very hard & were very capable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for professional home remodel. In fact I have some other projects and am hiring them to come back!"

Customers say: Quick response

"Ken Mikesell the owner of Dream Dwellings was VERY Professional, VERY knowledgeable, and VERY willing to accommodate my time needs. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs any deck work done. I was told it would take possibly 3 days, they finished in a day and a half. The cost that I was quoted was the price I paid, and the price was hundreds less than I was quoted by other companies. Very pleased, Joseph M."

"I highly recommend Founder's Renovation. I am a customer, and my professional working relationship with Thomas Williams began approximately four years ago. During that time, he has completed multiple home repair projects for me, including texture matching, remodeling our master bedroom, and creating a custom closet. He has also performed electrical work with strong attention to detail. What sets Thomas apart is that he not only completes the job but also provides clear, practical guidance on the best approach to repairs or renovations to avoid unnecessary costs and delays. During a high-pressure home situation with tight timelines and unexpected issues, his advice was the difference between the project stalling and moving forward in a smart, affordable way. He is dependable, straightforward, and takes pride in doing things correctly. If you want someone you can trust in your home who will treat your project with care and professionalism, Founder's Renovation is a solid choice."

"John, owner of Improvement Pros, and his team recently finished a kitchen remodel for us. Although we kept the same layout, the cabinets, counters, kitchen sink, and backsplash were all replaced. His team also added crown molding and trim on the soffit to help it blend in with the cabinets. John is very good about keeping in touch throughout the project, so we usually knew what to expect day-to-day. The project did run longer than expected, but that was because one of his employees took a job overseas and quit without advanced notice. If that wouldn’t have happened, the job would have been finished as expected. To make up for that delay, John worked on a Saturday and gave us a small discount on the overall price. He also strived to make sure that my husband and I were both satisfied with the end results. Not happy about a tile? He’ll fix it. Cabinet doors look just a little off to you? He’ll straighten them. At the end of a project, he asks for honest feedback because he wants to keep improving his business. Since this was the third time he successfully completed a project in our house, we knew we’d be pleased with the results of this project as well. He did not disappoint and we love our new kitchen!"

"The El Torro team did an excellent job on our home interior remodel. Before we decided to hire El Torro, we had many contractors come to our home and listen to our ideas, and provide recommendations and solutions. The El Torro team provided us with a clear and concise bid. There were no hidden charges or surprises. They were very transparent with their estimate. When the El Torro team started the interior remodel of our home, we found the team to be courteous, knowledgeable, skillful, and quick to adjust to our changes. They are true professionals. We'd especially like to recognize Gustavo - the leader of the El Torro team. He was excellent at explaining the complexities of the remodel, and he was patient with our changes and last minute requests. He has a unique talent to be able to talk to clients in laymen's terms vs. technical jargon. We are very impressed with Gustavo and his team. We are HAPPY with the results! We highly recommend El Torro Construction for your home interior remodeling needs."

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in Colorado Springs, CO

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
