"First of all Freddy was on time. That's a big deal for me. Very efficient. I was impressed with his work. And that everything was done the same day in a reasonable amount of time including running to the hardware store. I'm very happy"

"This was a first time project for us, installing a deck. We were looking for a reasonable and reliable contractor that provided quality work, we didnt want any surprises or delays... Hiring MRI Construction was the best decision we made!. Shannon and Dawna were very professional and well skilled at their job. They both provided excellent service and quality work. They went above and beyond what was expected. They were always on time and efficient and completed the work as promised. We will definitely have them back for any future projects."

"Eugene and his team were very professional and did a great job with my kitchen floor. During the demo part, they ran into some unplanned issues with the flooring, and then later with the tile itself but they always made it work or suggested the best options to move forward. The job was completed on time and the finished floors looks great."

"Did crown molding first then sheetrock repair. while first coating on sheetrock was drying, did not have additional work to do since the crown was already installed. bad project management. resulting in sheetrock repair not getting a second coat as needed. need to bring in another sheetrock guy to put on the second and final coat. crown mold inside corners have 1/8 to 3/16" gaps, had to fill with wood filler to make it look good. would not hire again for any finish type work."

"Everything was done on time and as agreed.  There were no surprises.  What was explained to me as to how the job would progress happened just as described.  The dirt was removed, the wall was cleaned & a skim coat of cement put on, then waterproofed, a french drain was installed and then backfilled.
The only recommendation I have for improvement, and why I put a 'B' on professionalism, is that some cleanup could have been done a little earlier than it was.  Everything was cleaned completely at the end of the job, but during the job drink containers and other nonconstruction debris were lying around the work area.  This didn't bother me too much but my wife wishes that at least before a weekend things could have been cleaned up a bit more.
Working with Q was a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to do so again."

"Mark was very easy to work with and accommodating, given the unusual requirements of the project. I purchased their special offer and then hired Fine Finish for two additional weekends to complete the work. The framing required installation of a large and very heavy framing beams. Fine Finish was able to get these installed.
Other than a few minor glitches, everything went well. They showed up on time, have the required equipment, and kept good communication. I would hire them again.

FAQs for baseboard installation projects in Colton, OR

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
