"Plumbdog LLC. was a pleasant experience! Bruce Bennett was very swift and accomadating in addressing our failed water heater. He was able to replace it the very next morning when most other companies were two to three days out. Plumbdog LLC. has a very straightforward reasonable approach, is operated solely by Bruce Bennet and son, and gets the job done right for a few bucks under competitors rates!"

Small jobs welcome

"I have HomeServe insurance for Hot Water Heater. They chose Bowers Plumbing. I was impressed from the first call. A friendly lady that set the appointment asked me a lot of details about the problem and decided a Master Plumber was the best choice. I was sent a picture and a brief info about the man coming to do the job before he came. Gary Gates was older, great work ethic, experienced, and had EVERYTHING on his truck to repair or replace my hot water tank. Being in a rural area, that was a new one for me. Usually service people have to go back to town for parts. He spoke directly to HomeServe on the phone; got them to understand a repair would still require a replacement very soon and be a waste of money, so they agreed to the replacement; I agreed to pay the cost of the upgrades I needed to be to code and he installed the new water heater. It was a very seamless job, and done very clean and neat, with good information all along the way about what I needed to do to take good care of it too. I will definitely recommend this company and this plumber."

"The job was to remove and replace a defective well pressure tank, pressure switch and associated lines. There was no selection for this under the Specific Project pulldown, so I selected Plumbing for Home Addition. Anyway, Josh did a great job and went the extra mile of replacing some existing pvc pipes/fittings with copper and brass. I didnâ t get a chance research price, but for the quality of the work performed and the importance of getting it done in a timely manner, it was worth it."

"Scott and George are a great professional team and used this to my advantage as they worked to install a dishwasher in a space not really designed to have such an appliance. The gentlemen were true problem solvers, efficient workers, and very kind and professional. Scott took the time to help me with an unrelated water task and did not charge me for his extra trouble. Additionally, he spared me unnecessary expense by showing me why I did not need to replace a water heater part that I feared had seen better days. I highly recommend Scott Stiles Plumbing and his crew! <br />"

"It went amazing. I have had Andy do previous work through our home owners insurance. We now call him any time we have any plumbing problem. He is VERY good. He will take your idea and offer suggestions on how to make it better i.e. when we called him on our bathroom remodel. He is very polite, loves dogs (which is a plus for us) and has the most fair prices we have come across. I suggest him to all my friends. Great response time and always fits us in a schedule that works for us. I would give higher than an A if I could. I've never had a service provider this reliable."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Wichita, KS

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
