"Ahhhh, what a relief to get plumbing services from Plumbing Pros. We needed a large project done in our home in Athens, GA. I texted Sam Ivey and he responded immediately! On Christmas Day! That was on Friday. He had a professional plumber, Ethan Johnson, at our house on Monday to give us an estimate. We accepted his estimate and he began work the next day. The service was more complicated than he thought, but he did not change the estimate. He brought our 70 year old house up to code, restored water pressure in our kitchen, and ran new lines where necessary. PLUS, at our request, he replaced our 30 year old water heater at a reasonable cost. We had a slight misunderstanding on what day he would finish the job under the kitchen, but those things happen, and it was New Year's weekend. So far, we are delighted with Ethan's work and work ethic. We had called other plumbers who never even returned our call! I highly recommend Plumber Pros to anyone. Their customer service an communication skills are excellent!!"

"I own a rental house and Tommy has come a couple of times to fix things.  The first was when the former tenant moved and left several things clogged or broken.  The second time he came was to unstop a drain.  Both times he was punctual and thorough.  He is very honest and will tell you if he doesn't think something needs fixing instead of charging you for unnecessary repairs.  That alone makes him my go-to plumber from now on, for my own home and my rental house!  He does his own work so you can be sure it's done right.  He has been in business for over 20 years so he knows what he's doing.  His prices seem very reasonable too. <br />"

"Provider was responsive to request for service appointment.  Didn't have required part to effect repair, so went to Hom Depot to get it.  Charged an additional $175+ above voucher cost.  I haven't had plumbing work done for a very long time, so I'm not familiar with then current costs.  However, it seemed a little overpriced. <br />"

"Our pump failed over the weekend, and my husband wanted it fixed ASAP.  I called my first pick, but he was booked until Wednesday. Several other companies could not come out at all until weeks later. Finally, I found Septic Service Pro, and they agreed to send out a team late in the day. <br /> The team called to say they were running behind schedule, but then arrived even later than the new estimate. We were just grateful they came out at all (after facing traffic, then having engine trouble on the highway). They got there around 7pm or so and worked very hard until 10pm, I think. <br /> They drained the tank, installed a nice quality pump, and closed back up the hole. They advised us also on how to hook up the electricity so as to not void the pump warranty. <br /> The one area they fell short was that they buried the old power supply connection. This caused me trouble when the electrician went to hook up the new pump cord to the old power supply. We had quite a time locating it. <br /> I didn't get any other quotes, so I can't say for sure if the price is good or bad. It just seemed high to us, but then, this type of work is expensive--and for good reason. We did get about 15% off the bill, which is greater than the promised 10% they offer through Angie's List. Overall, we would recommend them. <br />"

"John from T & S Plumbing was great! He looked around, listened for water dripping. It had been two weeks since the water stain appeared, it had dried up, but he still couldn't locate anything. He didn't want to rip open the Kitchen ceiling until it was necessary. He suggested to wait till it reappeared and call them back and we would go from there. Really appreciated the advice and honesty."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Comer, GA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
