"I highly recommend Limitless for your wood floor needs. I hired Limitless to install all wood floors through 800 sf. They worked with their supplier to find beautiful wood at a competitive price. They walked me through all the staining options, pros and cons of different stains and woods. Limitless pays attention to detail and they provide a great finished product. The entire job was complete in about 5 business days. I now have a wonderful new wood floor."

"Leo and his team did an excellent job refinishing my 1960s hardwood floor. Their price was very competative, they responded quickly, got me on the calandar promptly, and sanded, filled, resanded, stained and applied 2 coats of finish to around 1200sqft, as well as replacing the damaged nosing at the top of my stairs, in two days. Amazing. They also came back the day after for a few touchups that I wanted addressed and took care of them immediately. Comminication is mainly through text, which I prefer, but may not be your preference, so just a heads up. Also, when refinishing floors up to baseboards they will get marked up, just the nature of the beast. We were already planning on redoing our baseboards so it wasn't an issue, but if yours are in good condition I would either find a way to protect them (a few layers of painters tape?) or discuss with Leo what additional service he can provide to protect them. Would thoroughly recommend."

"Dustin did a wonderful job refinishing our old, worn flooring. Communication with him was easy & prompt. One thing: we didn t know, & he didn t mention - stain finds it s way onto the baseboards during the refinishing process. It obviously doesn t wash off, so be prepared to paint all your baseboards after he finishes."

"Our home needed wood trim repair and painting. I received a JP Painting and Restoration referral from a family member. Candace Conley, General Manager, visited our home and was professional, personable, and meticulous in confirming what we wanted, pointing out areas of improvement, explaining what her crew would accomplish and answering multiple questions. Candace presented a proposal during that initial visit. We completed an agreement that same day. Candace called back and scheduled the work. Very efficient. Next, Geo, crew supervisor, power washed our home, reviewed the requested wood repair, and confirmed the wood repair cost on our agreement. The crew arrived the next day, replaced the damaged wood and prepped our home for painting, which included detailed scrapping and caulking. The painting took a day and one half. The crew worked very effectively and efficiently. The work was excellent quality. Geo walked me around our home to make sure they had met all expectations. The damaged wood was replaced, and our home painted at an affordable cost. The entire process was excellent."

"It went fabulous. We emailed Adam after receiving three other quotes. Adam's bid was under the rest, and in a shorter time frame. From the time the wood arrived in our home, to the time that David and crew arrived, to the time that the work was finished, we were happy customers.

Denver Hardwood delivered our floor in a timely manner. The man who brought the flooring in our house was respectful and prompt.

David and crew were great, and we appreciated their conscientious effort in cleaning up around themselves before leaving for the day, and getting a "plan for the day" each morning. When we experienced a minor setback (involving a plumber's mistake), Adam and David were quick to help, and were flexible in working around the setback. Had this setback not occurred, our floors would have been completed in a very short amount of time. Due to the plumber's error, we did not get our floors completed for a couple of days later than scheduled.

When we had questions, Adam was prompt in answering them. I especially appreciate David, who was very responsive and friendly. The rest of the team was a pleasure to work with. The final product is amazing, and we are so happy to have beautiful hardwood floors. I would definitely recommend Complete Flooring, and would not hesitate to hire them again in the future."

FAQs for wood flooring refinish projects in Commerce City, CO

The hardest wood floor finish is aluminum oxide, but it only comes on prefinished boards. If you want something durable you can add after installation, acid-cured is your best bet. The key to the longevity of any type of wood floor is a maintenance coat when a traffic pattern begins to show in high traffic areas.

Moisture-cured urethane is the most durable finish for homes with pets. However, It contains a lot of (VOCs) that can aggravate pets and people, especially at first. If you’re looking for a low-VOC alternative, water-based polyurethane is your best bet.

Bona sells several highly-rated polyurethane hardwood floor finish products, typically through small, local distributors. Brands like DuraSeal or Minwax also rank well for durability and ease of application. They are available at businesses such as Walmart and Amazon.

You have to seal unfinished hardwood floors to protect them from scratches and stains. The frequency depends on the type, but in general it’s ideal to refinish them between four and six times in their lifetime. This comes out to about every seven to 10 years.

Refinishing hardwood floors costs $1,100 to $2,400.

Wood stain adds a color to the surface. A finish adds a level of shine (e.g. matte, low-gloss, high-gloss) and seals the grain to protect against damage. Some companies, such as Minwax, offer products that do both at once.
