Small jobs welcome

"Marco and Joe were AMAZING to work with. We thought we just needed our kitchen sink snaked-turned out the drain had collapsed/ broke under the foundation of our home. Joe helped walk us through the process and prices and Marco was the main man doing the job. They finished the entire project in one day and cleaned up the mess so well. Very trust worthy people and they will be our go to plumbers moving forward!"

"James and his son provide top-notch work and are an absolute pleasure to work with. I asked them to do a major upgrade on the house’s pipes and drains, and couldn’t be happier with the results, efficiency, professionalism, can-do attitude and responsiveness. I had minor other issues about 8 weeks later and James answered the call immediately and solved those items also. It goes without saying we’re now friends and the levels of trust are complete. He’s gone on to do work for my cousins and aunt, both on short notice and with completely satisfactory results. His quality of work is, basically, perfect. Thanks, James, for making my time in Denver working on my projects a success."

"Mitigation system installation was very smooth. There was confusion with the initial crawlspace measurement for encapsulation but we resolved it. Overall great price and service."

"I had a clogged kitchen drain on a weekend, a challenging time to find a reasonably priced plumbing company. After several unsuccessful calls, I made an appointment with an expensive service for the same day. I received a call back later in the day from Jason at Afford-a Router. He answered my questions and made an appointment for the same day. He arrived at the house, reviewed and resolved the problem in twenty minutes. He was professional, answered my questions, and the charge was very reasonable, considering it was a weekend. I highly recommend their services and will use them again."

"We had an issue with our furnace popping a breaker. Roberto was sent out by Heart Heating & Air to investigate. Roberto did a thorough check of our HVAC system. Roberto concluded the issue was indeed electrical. He was not able to troubleshoot since he's not a certified electrician. However, while checking our system, he found the A/C drain in the furnace clogged with Miller Moths. Had he not discovered the clog, the system could have shut down due to an interlock that senses water backing up in the drain tube. Plus, he took the time to educate me on other aspects of our HVAC system. Greg, Heart's electrician, came up and fixed the issue the next morning. After he got done, he took the time to visit with us for a few minutes, telling us about his Mom, Grandma and upbringing in Puerto Rico. He had us in stitches, laughing about his experience being raised there and telling us about his dear Grandma. We also discussed Puerto Rican food, which we knew nothing about. We'll check it out after visiting with Roberto. Roberto knows his business, he's very professional and has a "GREAT" personality. He seemed like a longtime friend more so than a HVAC technician here for a job. We've had a lot of interaction with Heart after having a new A/C, furnace, humidifier, HEPA filter, electrostatic filter and whole house fan installed. The system as a whole is awesome and all the technicians we've had in our home for the installs and follow up have all been consummate professionals. All have been respectful of our home, wearing shoe covers as they come in the house and most of all, I can tell they all enjoy what they do. When you need HVAC, electrical work, or any other services Heart performs, check these guys out. You won't be sorry."

"Went to self instal a bidet on my toilet and when I went to turn the water back on there was a leak coming from the on/off valve . I thought great this is gonna cost me an arm and a leg . The first company I had come look at it wanted $430 to fix it . I told them I’ll get back to them . Brandon came over next and said it would be less then 1/2 as much as the other company quoted me and the craftsmanship was perfect as well as communication and punctuality. If I ever have any future plumbing needs I’m calling Dearborn first and will only use them . Highly recommended"

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Commerce City, CO

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
