"The products that Wenke offers are high quality. They use contractors to installer the products. We had three sets of contractors. The carpet installer did an excellent job installing carpet on the stairs and bedrooms. A two person team installed the wood flooring. They did an excellent job but were not allowed enough time to complete the job and had to rush towards the end. There were a few areas on the wood flooring that could have used a little more TLC to make it right. The two person team also installed tile in two bathrooms and fixed another bathroom that another installer installed incorrectly. The other tile installer installed the tile pattern incorrectly an did not install a finished edge to meet up with the carpet. The edge of the tile was sharp. Wenke listened to our concerns and had the tile fixed in the one bathroom. <br /> To be fair to Wenke they offered to fix all of the areas that we were not happy with in our home. My husband and I were just tired of having people in our home and wanted the construction to end. We decide to live with the improfections and decided to repair some of the issues ourselves. <br /> I would probably purchase Wenke products again but hire my own installer. Some of the installers at Wenke are very good while others are not. You will not know the good from the not so good until after the work is complete and then it it too late. <br />"

"It went much smoother than I imagined. Sure, it was a few days of inconvenience. One issue was that I have a "kitchen garage" in the corner which was part of the upper cabinet. In order to remove the Formica countertop, that cabinet and the one next to it had to be removed. I was very concerned but they had a carpenter come out and remove it without any damage to either cabinet. After the new countertops were installed, the cabinets were put back in.  <br /> My kitchen is now awesome! I am so happy I decided to go with Standale Interiors. The are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. <br /> <br />"

"These guys rock! They were awesome with every aspect of their service in terms of price, quality of work, speed and timeliness. I picked them out on Angie's List, texted Printess and received a reply back almost instantly. He was professional and very friendly. Settled on a price and date of completion. He came on time and completed the job in lightning speed. The installation looked awesome! They took away all the waste and vacuumed. Many thanks to them and I will definitely use them again. I highly recommend their services."

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"It went great. I had to have some wall to wall berber type carpeting stretched and rolled better than it was. Reason? It's a modular home that was split in two, moved, then re-seamed up. The house move crew did a great job re-seaming the carpeting but I needed the carpet rolled and tacked down better. Jim did a great job. Would hire again and refer to others. I think he also does fencing."

"I originally purchased the deal to install a doggie door in my basement door but needed additional work done also.  Tim contacted me and we discussed the doggie door and since he couldn't fit in the whole days work for quite a while and I needed the doggie door within 2 weeks, he told me he could fit me in for the doggie door but he would have to put me on his waiting list.  So here we go, right off the bat I had to pay for the doggie door separately because he had no time in his schedule for some time to fulfill a whole days work (got the $299 for a whole day)  After you purchase it, you find out that it is only for 6 1/2 hours of work or 3 1/4 hours if 2 guys are working on it.  When he came, he started the work but was having issues getting it all the way in.  So he pulled the door back out after working on it for a half hour and brought it up to show me what the issue was.  I asked him if he gave it all he had to push it in and he said he would try again.  Seems he had no problem getting it in after that.  So good he got it done, but con he wasted time taking it back out and putting it back in when he could have had me go down there to look at it.  When he arrived, I asked if he would have time to put together an entertainment center I had just purchased and found that it was way over 100 lbs so I could not assemble it like I thought I could.  He said yes but needed his helper.  After installing the doggie door, he started getting all the parts arranged and completed it when his helper finally arrived.  Tim did a good job so happy about that part of it.  Then scheduled him to do the baseboard to use my deal for the whole days work.  He arrived and set up the saw and got started and then his helper arrived and they completed the work. I was pleased with the work. <br /> Though Tim's work is good.  I was a little put off by his comments about his pricing.  He is a lot more expensive than other companies and he made some comments to defend his pricing and also talked about another client though he didn't name the person, of course.  Tim does a good job and he is overall a pleasant fellow, but I was disappointed with the overall value. <br />"

"The tile did not hold up to its expectations. They came out and replaced that whole floor for me in December 2016. They came out after they laid the carpet. They did an amazing job, because it was a very, very big job. They had to remove all my tiling, which was the kitchen, the walkway, the entry and I still had to run my business. They did a very nice job."

"It was smooth. Removed old carpeting from both areas, installed main floor the first day and then returned for lower level next day. They saw the stair wall needed touchup and allowed us to paint before they laid the carpeting on the stairs"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Comstock, MI

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
