"I couldn't have hoped for better service in all respects.  I contacted Erik's Clean Sweep through Angie's List after a squirrel had gained access to my home through the chimney.  Erik and his partner, Mike, arrived approximately 15 minutes early on the appointed day, and within a short time had completed the initial inspection of the upper part of the chimney and existing chimney cap.  Inside the house, drop-cloths were placed on the floor before beginning the inspection of the lower part of the chimney flue and smoke chamber/firebox.  As there was a large amount of debris to be cleaned out of this lower area, Mike "tented" Erik while this work was done to prevent dust/soot from entering the living area.  (This involved using a covering that was secured over/around Erik and close against the top and sides of the fireplace.) <br /> Erik and Mike knew how to address every issue encountered, no matter how unusual, and were resourceful in finding solutions.   They made an extra effort to find a new chimney cap right away when an appropriate size/design was not readily available through normal channels, and this allowed for installation of the critter-proof cap the same day (much to my relief).  They also devised a simple fix for a faulty damper mechanism, restoring the option to secure the damper in the closed position.  I very much appreciated the extra effort and ingenuity that allowed for resolution of all issues so quickly, especially with no mess inside my home; and needless to say, I highly recommend Erik's Clean Sweep. <br /> <br />"

"We are impressed. Smith Exteriors provided clear bids and explanations at each step as we expanded the scope of work. We were able to pick a nice custom chimney top with top-damper. The chimney looks excellent, with a properly soldiered row of bricks at the top as it was originally done. Neighbors have said how good it looks. A real bonus was that as is inevitable in any construction project, there are times when a crew is not fully occupied. Unlike any other outfit I have hired, during slack times, the crew made itself helpful!. They cleaned gutters, straightened copper guttering, power-washed porches, and raked leaves - all not on the bill. The work on the sidewalk was expertly done. They matched flagstone color, and did a bit of re-grading near the house to eliminate a chronic puddle/ice problem. They prepped surfaces to be painted, removed shutters, and our porches and trim looks better than it has in years. The interior of the fireplace, which had not been used in many years, was renewed with firebrick. The firebox was parged, and we were given a choice of methods. We chose to have them cut an access from the outside from a covered porch. They had us choose a cover (iron) which they had powder-coated to go with the original brick. We had been worried about the roof over that porch, which is the only shingle roofing (the rest is slate) due to mild slope. It was covered with moss. We picked out a premium shingle that went with the rest of the house's slate, and Smith Exteriors removed the old shingles. While they were prepared to make repairs, they informed us that the 3/4 inch tongue and groove wood below the shingles was in excellent shape. They did a great job shingling, with precise rows. Again, neighbors have commented on the quality of the work. We are very happy with Smith Exteriors, and would not hesitate to use them again."

"Although Lancaster Seamless Gutters performed work as a subcontractor on our total re-roofing housing project with Joyland Roofing (another A rated favorite), we would not hesitate to use their services again, plus recommend them, independently, based on our outstanding experience.  Right from the start, Elvin listened to my concerns about hiding/eliminating existing bracket holes in the siding, plus wanting to relocate some of the spouting to help avoid eventual, visible water flow fading.  He happily gave me options and patiently worked with me to ensure I was completely satisfied.   In fact, him and Robert went way beyond satisfying even my modest expectations when they started on the new front entrance porch addition.   Because aesthetics is very important to me, they stayed several hours late, listening to my ideas, trying different options and laboring in fine detail to get the look I was envisioning and desired.  So they deserve the highest marks when it comes to customer service, but their expertise and superior quality of workmanship is equally impressive.   All the work was completed in one day (it was an extra long, hot day), owed to excellent work ethics.  Elvin and Robert are top notch in their field, personable and very professional.   We also admired and appreciated how Lancaster Seamless Gutters partnered with Luke Martin Siding and Exteriors (another Angie A rated sub on our job) to combine both their areas of expertise to give us a more endurable installation.  We are so thrilled with all the work completed!   Lancaster Seamless Gutters is truly a high caliber company, offering optimal quality and service at such an incredibly affordable price.   We truly found a rare gem, and I encourage you to use them.  Trust me, you'll be a happy customer....lucky to have found them and singing lots of high praises too :-) <br />"

"Bought a daily deal through Angie's List and after several miscommunications, the work was completed on Sat., 9/6. After they left, we noticed they failed to replace some shingles that had blown off. My husband indicated to them that we had spare shingles that could be used. They indicated that the mansard part of the roof was difficult to keep shingles on. We agreed but didn't realize that they hadn't replaced some shingles on another area of the roof. It would have been an easy fix. My husband, being disabled is not able to do this type of work. They did give suggestions on some repairs to the chimney plus a minor adjustment to the roof fan."
