"Owner is professional, courteous, thorough. He took the time to suggest various flooring, and made no pressure for higher-end items. Prices are fair, and at market value. Installation team was punctual, very thorough, and very professional. It took them less than a day to move furniture, remove the carpet, and install hardwood in nearly 2,000 square feet of floorspace. I was super impressed and would highly recommend this group for any flooring task."

"Curtis did an excellent job; he carefully looked over our carpet for special treatment areas, gave me a precise estimate (a bit high compared to Angi’s predicted amount) and then did extensive, thorough work that removed spots an earlier cleaner hadn’t removed. We had one or two iron stains that emerged hours later. This was a problem we had before but they were not visible when Curtis treated the carpet, so he would not have known about them (any bleach-type spot treatment makes iron stains turn red — I’m a chemist and I know how to neutralize them: vitamin C and citric acid solution)."

"New Braunfels Carpet repair should be your go to for any carpet repair. I thought I would have to replace my carpet due to my dog eating a hole through it but they were able to fix it good as new."

"We had a very good experience with Action Roofing & Remodeling. Bill Clarkson was very patient with all of our questions and gave us very knowledgeable and practical answers throughout the whole process. He always returned our calls/e-mails in a timely manner. There was no sales pitch or pressure. We made the decision to go with this company in October 2015 and the work was completed in Jan 2016. The time difference had to do with the weather, the holidays and mainly with the backlog of roofs in our area that were having the same work done due to a hail storm in 2015. Every company we called had the same backlog. In January 2016, Bill sent two separate crews to do the work in a one week time frame when the weather was mild. The first crew, led by Tony, did the woodwork. His three-man crew worked very well together and were in good spirits They worked efficiently. The woodwork was professionally done with all the little details that one would expect. We have one arched window that was a bit tricky, but they worked at it until the trim looked correct (and not just good enough.) That part of the job took 2 1/2 days. While the woodwork was being done, the roofing arrived and was all placed on our roof.. The second crew had at least 8 people in order to re-roof our home in only one day. Again, the crew was professional, worked well together, and were in good spirits. All crews were on time and their supplies were on hand or quickly obtained. Our home looks wonderful and we can't thank them enough. We would not hesitate to work with Action Roofing and Remodeling again.

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in Converse, TX

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

Search our directory of carpet removal companies and services to find an affordable, screened contractor near you. All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Get at least three quotes to compare prices and the timeline for your project.

Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
