"We bought a condominium at Sea Palms in August and needed to make several improvements. Bobby Blake and his crew from Brunswick Floors worked steadily to remove old carpet, level the floors, and install luxury vinyl plank throughout. He also installed custom blinds on two of the windows. They did a beautiful job. <br />"

"Mayfield carpets originally installed the carpeting in my home when it was built 10 yrs ago. I returned again to replace the living room carpet. The owner Mr. Mayfield came to house to measure the room and discuss what ideas we had for the new carpet. We were invited the their new location to see the many samples of carpets on display. Mr Mayfield and sales staff were very helpful in the selection process. We took home samples they recommended and selected a Mohawk SmartStrand Silk Carpet.  Its the softest carpet on the market.  The installation crew was experienced and did an excellent job. They used the least amount of seams and placed them in proper locations. They moved all the furniture and reinstalled after carpet was down. I was very pleased with my experience with Mayfield Carpets and will be back in the future for my next room. <br />"

"Joe was punctual and ready to get to work.  He was courteous and friendly and it was a pleasure having him.  I would have no hesitation in recommending Eagle and Joe and I would use them again if the need arises.  He was very professional. <br /> <br /> <br /> The carpet looks so good now.  <br />"

"My 3 year old son flooded our bathroom to create a "water park" at around 8pm one night. We called A-1 immediately (after hearing on the radio) and they we're there within an hour. We cleaned up as much as we could and they did the rest. The guys we dealt with over the 3 days they we're here to clean up the water, check the fans, etc. we're so professional. We had a great experience and would recommend to anyone!"

"I would grade them overall an A as far as the work is concern, but a D as far as one of their employees stole some of my personal belonging and tried to use it subsequently in order to try to open up a credit account, although it was declined. All that was reported, those report was made, so that's how I rated that. They're swiftly, I mean, you know, they laid the carpet swiftly, there were about 5 or 6 of them, and then they had to go and lay the carpet some place else. The work turned out okay in the end. The price is kind of pricey, I just liked the carpet and I really didn't think it through as far as the price is concerned, but it's pricey, but it looks real good, every body's been complementing me on the carpet. The quality is excellent."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Cornelia, GA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
