"Sherry came to my house and brought samples after hours! it was nice to have someone work with my work schedule. Installers were polite, and on time. They cleaned up after they left. We had nothing to do but put our furniture back in our room. Definitely will call on them again."

"Installation went well. The workers were hard working and courteous. The sales person was hard to get a hold of. Within a year of the company provided warranty a run in the carpet appeared in 3 different spots on the same seam. It was fixed, but only after I filed a complaint to BBB. I dealt mainly with the Mooresville location until the complaint was filed then the main office took over to fixed the problem. The run happened again within a couple of weeks in the same spot shortly after the fix, but we are dealing with it until we can use a different vendor and replace it with something different."

"Dealing with Mike was wonderful. He made a straightforward, no muss no fuss estimate for the work that was needed. We purchased the flooring that was required and worked out a date for install that was way earlier then we had anticipated. He did make a note to mention that his son , Brandon would be the installer on our particular job. Brandon arrive on time and we very pleasant to deal with. He finished in about 5 hours. That time included removal of moulding, kick boards and the big appliances. The final result is stunning and very nice to look at. He did a fantastic job. We have a houseful of other areas in our house with worn carpeting. If and when we decide to deal with the older carpeting issues, Mike will be the first phone call to get an estimate for any of the required work. We are very happy with this company and the service we received."

"You can buy nice flooring lots of places. At A-1 CARPET & TILE you get outstanding service along with beautiful flooring. I had large plank wood-look tile installed throughout the house (both the downstairs and upstairs) and carpet on the stairs and landing. Mohammad listened to what I wanted and made excellent recommendations. He stayed in touch with me on when the installation would begin/end, working around my schedule. His installers were on-time, professional, and hard-working (arriving by 8am and not leaving until 7pm). Mohammad followed up throughout the installation, making sure I was happy with both the selection and the crew working (I was!). My flooring is absolutely gorgeous...just what I wanted! I highly recommend A-1 Carpet & Tile!"

"My experience started out wonderfully.  I went to the warehouse and met the salesperson, Michael. He was very helpful in recommending a remnant that met my needs and helped me choose a padding that would last through several renters. I brought my measurements to him and he was able to give me a general quote. We set up a time for him to come to my house to do his own measurements. I put down a $500 deposit to hold the carpet remnant I wanted.  <br /> After he completed his own measurement, he called me the next day to confirm my quote. It was very close to the original so I was very happy with this. He said the final amount due, minus the deposit, was $900.34 which make a total of $1400.34. He said I would need to pay the installer separately on the day of install $192.60. I said that was no problem and was that $192.60 part of the $900.34 that was due or was it extra. He said it was included in the quote. I asked him this several times. He said several times that the total amount due would be $1400.34. I asked that he email me the breakout of the quote but I never received anything.  <br /> The day of install, the installers were 30 min late but once there got right to work. They didn't speak very much English, but they worked extremely fast and did a great job. I was quoted 5-6 hours for installation and they completed it in about 2hrs. If I could rate the installers separately I would give them all A's. I was originally told I could use a credit card to pay the installer but the installer didn't have his card machine with him so he said I could just pay the store and they would pay him.  <br /> After they charged my credit card I noticed that they charged both the $900.34 and the $192.60 meaning I was charged a total of $1592.94 instead of $1400.34. I called and spoke to Michael again. He insisted that it was charged correctly as the installer had to be paid separately. I tried explaining to him that he told me the $192.60 was included in the total quote of $1400.34 but he insisted it was charged correctly. <strong>He said he couldn't remember all the quotes he gave his customers and no one had ever complained before</strong>. I asked to speak to a manager or someone else since we just kept going around in circles. He said he would ask the owner to contact me, Susan Rush. This was 3 weeks ago and I have not heard from anyone. <br /> I'm very disappointed that the salesperson was dishonest in the pricing and apparently didn't even know what he had quoted, it could have been a very good experience otherwise. <br />"

"Excellent, above expectations! The entire process was smooth and easy. There was great communication and responsive from the beginning and even after the work was done. I had several questions about maintaining the floors afterwards and continued to receive quick responses and helpful advice. I found that their price was comparable to other quotes I received, plus they included movers. The movers were extremely careful and professional. Not having to worry about moving furniture made the project so much easier! I felt that the owner genuinely cared about the project going well and went above and beyond to make sure it did. The floors look beautiful and I would highly recommend Carefree Carpets!"

"I worked with Danny and the customer service I received was excellent. He is friendly,  professional, and follows through on what he says he will do. I needed the carpet installed in a short time frame due to the Christmas holiday.  The other vendor I was working with could not ensure installation before Christmas and this was a top priority for our family. Carpet Connection exceeded our expectations by having the carpet installed on 12/16. In addition, the two men who installed our carpet arrived on time and did an excellent job protecting our  new baseboards and freshly painted walls. They even cleaned up after themselves and vacuumed. I will definitely be using  them in the future.         <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Mooresville, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
