"Installation went well. The workers were hard working and courteous. The sales person was hard to get a hold of. Within a year of the company provided warranty a run in the carpet appeared in 3 different spots on the same seam. It was fixed, but only after I filed a complaint to BBB. I dealt mainly with the Mooresville location until the complaint was filed then the main office took over to fixed the problem. The run happened again within a couple of weeks in the same spot shortly after the fix, but we are dealing with it until we can use a different vendor and replace it with something different."

"Dealing with Mike was wonderful. He made a straightforward, no muss no fuss estimate for the work that was needed. We purchased the flooring that was required and worked out a date for install that was way earlier then we had anticipated. He did make a note to mention that his son , Brandon would be the installer on our particular job. Brandon arrive on time and we very pleasant to deal with. He finished in about 5 hours. That time included removal of moulding, kick boards and the big appliances. The final result is stunning and very nice to look at. He did a fantastic job. We have a houseful of other areas in our house with worn carpeting. If and when we decide to deal with the older carpeting issues, Mike will be the first phone call to get an estimate for any of the required work. We are very happy with this company and the service we received."

"You can buy nice flooring lots of places. At A-1 CARPET & TILE you get outstanding service along with beautiful flooring. I had large plank wood-look tile installed throughout the house (both the downstairs and upstairs) and carpet on the stairs and landing. Mohammad listened to what I wanted and made excellent recommendations. He stayed in touch with me on when the installation would begin/end, working around my schedule. His installers were on-time, professional, and hard-working (arriving by 8am and not leaving until 7pm). Mohammad followed up throughout the installation, making sure I was happy with both the selection and the crew working (I was!). My flooring is absolutely gorgeous...just what I wanted! I highly recommend A-1 Carpet & Tile!"

"Installed carpet in two Master Bedrooms, hallway and stairs.  Very professional. Very punctual. The carpet was actually more plush that we intended, but we now love it and you could literally sleep on ..  We opted or the best padding, but we are planning on being in our home for a long time.  I would purchase again from this company. <br /> I called them first, then went to the showroom/warehouse.  Although there was a lot to choose from, we had a particular price point in mind, so the choosing was rather easy and simplified.  The owner is very hands-on, which makes this have great appeal for me. They stayed in contact and my carpet was installed the very next day. <br /> Great choice. <br />"

"Spencer managed the job very well.  He was very present and available, had good advice, and was attentive to problem solving any surprises that needed to be attended to in a timely way.  He had very good teams for all the various jobs required (hardwood install, carpet install, custom runners, staing wood etc).  It was completed in a very timely way and we are thrilled with the results.  We definitely recommend them! <br />"

"The installers were prompt and professional the entire four days they were in our home. They did an excellent job . The floors look beautiful and the attention to detail on the finishing work is outstanding. They moved the larger pieces of furniture that we couldn't remove and they replaced the furniture in the location we desired when the job was completed. They cleaned up after themselves daily and were pleasant and professional when dealing with my wife about how we wanted the tiles installed.  They also returned at the beginning of December to install carpeting in our two remaining bedrooms and again they were prompt, professional and neat. The project coordinator, Sue Taylor, was constantly in touch with us to make sure we were satisfied. Her attention to detail was a large reason the whole project flowed so easily.  We will definitely be returning to Carpet Connection for flooring when the time comes that we renovate our two bathrooms. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Mooresville, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
